Audio-Technica, a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 60 years, announces the debut of the System 20 PRO. The digital wireless system is a self-managing, plug-and-play 2.4 GHz scalable to 20 channels, delivering dependable, high-quality audio regardless of where you set it up. Thanks to its easy deployment, the system overcomes many challenges of conventional wireless microphones.
The system’s ATW-R1440 receiver makes installation a breeze and can receive up to four transmitters. It can remain docked in the half-rack chassis or operate remotely up to 100 meters away, connected via Ethernet-standard cabling. With the ability to link up to five chassis (using the RJ12 cables), you can create a stable, multichannel system with the simultaneous use of up to 20 channels in high-
density mode. The standard mode runs up to 10 channels, ensuring a stable connection and greatly reduced latency. 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio operation delivers outstanding sound quality, and received audio can be submixed within each receiver for situations with limited mixer input channels. Chassis displays show system I.D., R.F. signal level, transmitter battery level, and system link status.
The Audio-Technica Wireless Management software ensures seamless setup and management, controlling multiple UHF, 2.4 GHz, and DECT wireless systems from a single screen. In addition, the System 20 PRO comes with AES128 encryption for peace of mind. The complimentary transmitters have been paired with the receiver in advance, so each system is ready to use out of the box and offers all-day operation on a full charge. Every receiver channel can be paired with up to four transmitters to switch between different configurations instantly.
The System 20 Pro transmitters are available in body-pack and handheld microphone configurations, making them ideal for both performance and presentation.
The Audio-Technica website offers three bundles, each consisting of one receiver and a combination of transmitters already paired out of the box:
– Customers can purchase the ATW-1421 combo, which includes two belt-pack transmitters compatible with a variety of CW-style microphones, for RRP $1,599.
– The ATW-1422 bundle comes with two handheld transmitters for RRP $1,699.
– Lastly, the ATW-1423 offers one handheld and one belt pack transmitter, available for RRP $1,649.
Either transmitter type features two antennas built into the transmitters, OLED displays, and slide-to-mute switches. The body-pack transmitters feature water—and sweat-resistant cW-style locking 4-pin connectors, making them suitable for use with various Audio-Technica microphones.
Optional two-bay charging stations allow the transmitter’s NiMH batteries to be charged without removing them from the device. Up to five charging stations can be linked and powered by a single power supply. The networked charging station provides monitoring of all transmitter batteries within the same Ethernet connection, making it convenient and efficient. Other monitoring options are available through the dedicated Audio-Technica Wireless Manager app or third-party software.
For conference applications, Audio-Technica offers two transmitter options: a boundary microphone transmitter with a cardioid polar pattern and a desk stand transmitter with an XLR gooseneck microphone. Both feature selectable mute buttons, variable mode LEDs, an OLED display, and a USB Type-C charging cable. While the long-lasting internal lithium-ion batteries deliver all-day power, the transmitters can be used while charging.
