Mike’s new cymbals start with a redesign of the original AAX MAX Splashes. The new 7, 9, 11″ AAX MAXX Splashes will have a larger-raw bell and new shape that’ll make them slightly stiffer than the originals, making for more volume and projection without a strong fundamental pitch. 6, 6.5, 7″ AA MAX Chimes. Thinner than a cup chime or ice bell, but much thicker than a splash, these small chimes sound great on their own or mount them upside down on top of other cymbals like Mike does. Crisp, clear and well defined.
The cherry on top is the 22″ HHX MAX Ride. Taking elements from Mike’s long-standing favourite used with DT for many years, the 22″ HH Rock Ride Brilliant and his more recent favourite the 40th Anniversary Artisan Raw Bell Dry Ride. The 22″ HHX MAX Ride combines HH and HHX hammering. It is lathed on the bow to the edge on both the top and bottom and finished with an un-lathed HHX hammered bell. The MAX Ride is a medium/heavy weight powerhouse with a brilliant finish.
