Roundhouse Entertainment, in conjunction with Frontier Touring, is thrilled to announce acclaimed five-piece band LAKE STREET DIVE will return to Australia in March 2025 for their first Australian shows in eight years. The band will kick off their tour in spectacular style, with the first show announced for the 2025 Live At The Gardens series at the iconic Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne on Saturday 15 March, 2025.
“It’s been too long, Australia – eight years, to be exact – since we played your glorious country/continent combo! But as Men At Work said, “you better run, you better take cover,” because we’re coming back! Look out for a show near you in March 2025 as part of our Australian Tour 2025. We’ll be good together again!”

Joining LAKE STREET DIVE at Live At The Gardens will be Melbourne musician – and space enthusiast – BATTS.
Formed in Boston, LAKE STREET DIVE first met while studying jazz at the New England Conservatory of Music. Their breakout album Bad Self Portraits was released in 2014, followed by Side Pony (2016), Free Yourself Up (2018), Obviously (2021), Fun Machine: The Sequel (2022) – a six-track covers EP with songs by Bonnie Raitt, The Pointer Sisters and Carole King, among others – and their most recent, Good Together (2024), out now via Concord Records, available here.
“From the moment the Boston quintet strolled onto the Orpheum stage, everyone in the theatre knew what was coming was going to be awesome.” Vancouver Sun
BATTS is Melbourne-based musician – and space enthusiast – Tanya Batt, who has just released her third album, Just My Luck. “I feel like there is a little something for everyone on this album,” she says. “The first half is more upbeat and punchy and then it takes a more melancholy turn.” Known for blending folk and rock with inspiration drawn from space and literature, she has previously incorporated NASA space mission samples into her music.
The award-winning tourism attraction, Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne has been a treasured part of Melbourne’s cultural life for almost 180 years – loved by generations of Victorians, as well as visitors from interstate and overseas. MORE ABOUT LAKE STREET DIVE:
LAKE STREET DIVE have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound – a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more – the five-piece’s all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their new album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today – unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization. Born from a mindset they refer to as “joyful rebellion,” Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.
The follow-up to 2021’s Obviously, Good Together finds LAKE STREET DIVE working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart’s desire. Next, on Dance with a Stranger, LAKE STREET DIVE once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic Walking Uphill presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while Seats At The Bar puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on Twenty-Five, Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, LAKE STREET DIVE tap into the palpable camaraderie that’s fuelled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.
