Despite the devastation of the Californian wildfires and the poor air quality around the northern coastal and inland hills areas of the city of Los Angeles, the air condition in the Anaheim area, home to the NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Centre has been labelled ‘Good’. In a video statement posted overnight, NAMM CEO/President John Mlynczak, Tom Morton Executive Director, Anaheim Convention Centre, and Mike Lyster, Chief Communications Office, City of Anaheim confirmed that currently there are blues skies over the area and that the NAMM Show will definitely proceed.
NAMM is in close contact with their partners in Anaheim, which remains unaffected by the wildfires 60 miles northwest. The NAMM Show can proceed as planned, and will be a platform to raise support for communities impacted in Los Angeles. The NAMM Foundation has committed $50,000 to relief efforts and we will be coordinating the industry’s response throughout The NAMM Show.
Below is a statement from NAMM CEO/President John Mlynczak, including the video link posted last night.
To Our NAMM Members and Music Industry Professionals,
We continue to stay in close contact with our NAMM members and partners in Los Angeles, including those impacted by the wildfires. We are coordinating relief efforts with NAMM members in L.A. while they all prepare to exhibit at The NAMM Show next week.

Yesterday, we visited the Anaheim Convention Center and confirmed firsthand with city officials that there is no impact on their services or air quality, and we can proceed with a safe and healthy show for all attendees.
NAMM is first and foremost an association that cares deeply for our members and the global music products industry. This year, The NAMM Show will demonstrate our industry’s commitment by uniting as a community in support of those impacted in Los Angeles.
The NAMM Foundation has committed $50,000 to our L.A. Wildfires Relief Fund and is accepting additional contributions. This fund will provide needs-based assistance to NAMM members, employees of NAMM member companies, music education programs and music makers impacted by the fires. We are also coordinating relief centers throughout The NAMM Show in partnership with NAMM member companies and their foundations.
As we gather next week to network, learn and promote the products that drive music making worldwide, we will focus our efforts on how we as an industry come together to support those communities affected by the wildfires. Thank you for your support of our industry and our impacted community members.
See you in Anaheim,
John Mlynczak
NAMM CEO/President
