We’ve said it before but it bears repeating, singer songwriter musicians Dave Graney and Clare Moore are one of the hardest working acts in Australian entertainment. There’s always something happening in their world, always thinkin’, whether it’s a new tour, single or album. It just so happens that they’ve just announced all three.
Creative Creep is a new single out on February 12th. It’s from their forthcoming album (strangely)(emotional), to be released on April 12th. To back it up, they’ve announced some shows. Pre-order a copy of the limited edition Compact Disc and digital album here.
The single features Dave Graney on vocals, bass, electric and acoustic guitars, with Clare Moore on bass drum, percussion, and keys. Dave Wray plays tenor and soprano sax and congas. Creative Creep was Recorded and mixed at the Ponderosa in Melbourne by Dave Graney and Clare Moore 2023- 2024 and mastered by Plutonic Lab.
“A vintage drum machine and kick drum beat with keys, sax and acoustic guitars.
Swinging like a ragtime pop tune. Don’t fence me in! And get in too! Let me be! Let me be! A creative creep! Ya standin’ too close to the flames,” says Dave

CATHERINE MCQUADE COLLABORATION
Well, Dave and Clare’s good friend, bassist, singer, composer Catherine McQuade asked the pair to collaborate on a new tune recently too. It’s called ‘You Came To Me In A Dream,’ and there’s a fabulous clip to go with it

After fabulous run of shows last year celebrating their milestone album, Night Of The Wolverine, the record is now available as a vinyl LP … Double LP in fact. The original 1993 album was released on Compact Disc. 53 minutes long. Too long for just one disc. It’s now been remastered for this vinyl edition.
Double album with inner gatefold full of a collage of polaroids, flyers and promotional ephemera of the period. It also includes a lyric insert which also has another collage of images on the reverse side.Limited edition.
Available at shows and selected shops and RIGHT NOW via our Bandcamp page. (CLICK HERE)
Then there’s Dave’s book of lyrics ….
THERE HE GOES WITH HIS EYE OUT. Dave Graney Lyrics 1980-2023.
Everything from the Moodists to the latest albums and beyond. Includes some descriptions of intent as to the song or music in question and also some notes as to production approaches and chords. The book design is based on a classic French Éditions Gallimard NRF form of paperback. All text, no images. 374 pages.
You can only get the book via our Bandcamp page.
And finally …
I’m not so sure that we fully acknowledged Clare Moore’s Lifetime Achievement Award in the Australian Womens Music Awards late last year. She deservedly received the Lifetime Achievement Award alongside Kate Ceberano and Jeannie Lewis. Congratulations Clare.
