KAMASI WASHINGTON ANNOUNCES FEARLESS MOVEMENT AUSTRALIAN TOUR HEADLINE SHOW CONFIRMED FOR MELBOURNE

Acclaimed US multi-instrumentalist, composer, bandleader and neo-jazz icon Kamasi Washington returns to Australia in June for a series of very special live dates.

Australian tour dates include Vivid Sydney and Open Season at QPAC, Brisbane. An exclusive Melbourne headline show has been confirmed for Wednesday, June 11 at Palais Theatre.

A Live Nation presale commences at 9am on Wednesday, March 26, running for 24 hours.

General public tickets go on sale on Thursday, March 27 at 10am (local). For tickets and further information, head to livenation.com.au

Emmy and Grammy nominated Kamasi Washington is one of the most revered figures in modern music. His three bodies of work to date – The Epic; Harmony of Difference, an EP originally commissioned for the 2017 Whitney Biennial; and Heaven and Earth – are among the most acclaimed of this century. Washington has toured the world over and collaborated and shared stages with Kendrick Lamar, Florence + the Machine, Herbie Hancock – with whom he will curate the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Fest for the second year in a row – and many more.

Washington will be joined by special guest, up and coming Australian artist Micah Heathwood, on his Sydney and Melbourne dates. A name familiar to many in the underground jazz circles of Australia, Heathwood possesses a diverse and formidable skillset as a jazz drummer by trade, but with a strong sensibility for hybrid electronic sounds.
