MarkBass, the cool Italian music gear company is presenting the Mark Bass Virtuoso International Contest. Up for grabs for 3 winners is a bunch of great gear with one ultimate winner going on to open for the Alain Caron Band in Pescara Italy.
The contest is open for all young bass players between the age of 15 and 29. You need to record a video of yourself playing one song in the style of either: Trad jazz, Contemporary jazz, Latin jazz, jazz rock and fusion.
The recording of your performance must be recorded on video with a single camera, one take live performance with no edits. The video frame must show the entire performer.. that’s the whole person and whole bass. No hand close-ups allowed!
A jury will select the 3 best virtuoso performances based on virtuosism, musicality, technique, intonation, rhythmic precision and sound.
The best virtuoso and two other winners will be awarded:
1) Little Mark 58R Head + MB58R Energy cabinet + F1 Bass JF1 Old Yellow 4 CR RW
2) Little Mark 58R Head + Gloxy Bass MB GV5 Gloxy Val Black CR MP
3) Mark Vintage Pre + Gloxy Bass MB GV4 Gloxy Val Surf Green CR MP
And … the ultimate winner goes on to open for the Alain Caron Band in Pescara, Italy on October 8th. So Australians entering should check your passports!
