Australia’s guitar queen, Orianthi arrived in Australia earlier this week to spend some rare down time with family before kicking off her Australian tour at The Gov in Adelaide on Saturday 4th of January, with dates following in Fremantle (8th Jan), Sydney (10th Jan), Brisbane (11th Jan) and Melbourne (12th Jan).
Adding to the quality of the gigs, Gerrard Allman Events has announced Lily Grace as support for the WA, NSW and QLD shows, with Dallas Frasca opening for Orianthi at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne.
Having worked alongside iconic artists including Steve Vai, Michael Jackson, Carlos Santana, Michael Bolton, Prince, ZZ Top, Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood, John Mayer, Dave Stewart, Dave Navarro and Richie Sambora, Orianthi is excited to play her music in the country where it all began.
After Orianthi’s Australian tour she will be rejoining Alice Cooper’s band for his upcoming 2025 American tour filling in for Nita Strauss. Orianthi will assume her old role as Cooper’s live guitarist — previously touring with Alice from 2011 to 2014.
Expect a high class of tight rock ’n’ roll as the roady-ready Orianthi has been busy leading up to the tour. Most recently Orianthi performed the half time spot at American football team The Raiders game in Las Vegas debuting her new project Band 3, which features percussion wizard Cindy Blackman Santana and bass great Rhonda Smith. The trio is currently recording an album together (due out in 2025), working alongside the legendary producer/engineer Eddie Kramer, known for his work with Jimi Hendrix, The Stones, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles to name a few.
Orianthi also took place in the celebrations for ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons Birthday bash at the famous Troubadour in Hollywood in December, sharing the stage with Billy, Slash and Bobby Rush.
Last year Orianthi released her acclaimed 4th solo album Rock Candy and this year a new single, the soulful ‘Some Kind of Feeling’ from an upcoming 5th solo album. No doubt Orianthi will be performing tracks from Rock Candy for the first time in Australia as well as other fan faves from her back catalogue and maybe even a surprise cover or two. Orianthi doesn’t get to perform in Australia as much as she’d like to, so don’t miss this opportunity to experience one of the world’s finest guitar players.
