In the lead up to their upcoming national tour, today The Jungle Giants release the music video for current single ‘Hold My Hand’.

The video comes off the back of the news that the band will be going ahead with the tour following frontman Sam Hales’ recent motor accident.

BECCY COLE ‘Poster Girl’ (Single 20th Anniversary Special Release)

Available 18 April 2025 via ABC Music. Pre-save here
Poster Girl, the signature single from acclaimed singer songwriter Beccy Cole, was originally released in 2005 and reached #1 on the Country Tracks Top 30 singles chart. It was taken from the album ‘Feel This Free’ released the same year.  The song won three Golden Guitars at the Country Music Awards of Australia; Song of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Single of the Year, a huge feat for any Artist.  Cole performed Poster Girl at the MCG on ANZAC Day in 2007 in front of a crowd of 100,000 people.

Between December 2005 and January 2006, Cole travelled to Iraq and The Middle East to do a series of concerts for the Australian Defence Force.  Upon her return, she received a letter from a fan objecting to her Tour de Force appearance, mistakenly thinking her singing overseas to Aussie troops amounted to her supporting the war.  Cole said the criticism stung, “to be accused of supporting some sort of ridiculous war on terror – which was not what I was doing at all – hurt”.

Cole explained; “I was incredibly inspired by the whole experience of going over to the Middle East to entertain the Aussie troops but also getting to know them and understanding what they’re all about.  I was like a proud mother hen over there, so I really did want to come back and sing their praises.  I wanted to write a song, but I didn’t know what angle.  That’s when I received the criticism.

“You can support the troops without supporting the war. You can recognise that they do an amazing job, that they put their lives on the line and put themselves in danger because we need a Defence Force.  Wonderful, wonderful people.”

Beccy explains, “Poster Girl is my most requested song and I still feel its relevance each time I sing it. I have many returned servicewomen and men telling me how much it means to them and I wanted to take the opportunity to refresh the statement. The song was about the troops, gratitude for their service and a tribute and recognition to their families as well. I had the idea to rerecord the song as I was singing it at the Gympie Muster in 2024 with thousands of phone lights swaying in front of me, it was a very special moment!”

Beccy is touring nationally from late June, through until mid-October, kicking off with Hobart’s Festival of Voices and winding up with a star turn at Savannah in the Round, QLD. All details below.

STEVE RYAN-GLEDHILL SAYS HI

Melbourne’s Steve Ryan-Gledhill has delivered something unusual; a pair of upbeat sounding ‘break-up’ songs in the form of a double A side single.  The songs are from his forthcoming eponymous LP – due out later in the year.
End Of The Line, a foot-stomping country blues number is partnered beautifully with the swinging melody and rich horn riffs of It Happens Every Day.  Both songs explore similar sentiments about the end of a relationship, but with completely different feels.  And while the music sounds buoyant, the lyrics – given a more focused listen, juxtapose sad stories as old as time.
In End of the Line, the narrator is blindsided by events “I didn’t see it coming, didn’t stand a chance” with the sarcastic twist of “Woohoo” in the chorus seemingly trying to mask and dampen the dumpee’s hurt and surprise.  The song, opening with the chorus, introduces the hook from the start.
Although recorded in the studio, a foot stomp and deliberate count in alongside background audience chatter and crowd participation (“I don’t have time for your merry dance”; crowd responds with “‘Cos’ I don’t dance!”) End Of The Line very much embraces a live feel.
It Happens Every Day is a co-write with author and broadcaster Justin Smith who wrote most of the lyrics, with Ryan-Gledhill on music writing duties, the latter explaining “the chord sequence over the Introduction and Verses cried out for a swing feel enhanced by the Brass figure which bubbles throughout the song.”
The lyrics describe the regret, frustration and sense of helplessness, along with some bitterness around a relationship clearly in its final throes.   “When you change baby, I’ll have you cold. This could have been the greatest story never told”.  The songs showcase the range of style and genre Steve Ryan-Gledhill so comfortably inhabits and work well as an introduction to an artist whose music defies easy categorisation. STREAM BOTH SINGLES VIA BANDCAMP
MORE ABOUT STEVE RYAN-GLEDHILL
Steve Ryan-Gledhill is probably one of the more interesting people you’ll have come across lately.  Diagnosed with both Asperger’s and Parkinson’s, this former high-flying finance executive with an IQ of 142, hasn’t allowed either illness to affect his desire to live a fulfilling life.
Determination was on show early in Ryan-Gledhill’s early life.  Achieving a B.A. Degree majoring in Psychology, with minors in Economics and Statistics, he was offered a position at a Funds Management Company in Hong Kong, before rising to become head of the Asia Pacific for both Chase Manhattan and Bank of America. These positions saw him mixing with the likes of Dr Henry Kissinger and Walter Mondale (VP to Jimmy Carter).

By 2002, after more than 30 years in the financial sector, Ryan-Gledhill had moved back to Australia to focus on a more creative life for himself centred on music – a lifelong love since first picking up the guitar at the age of 11.
Returning to school to complete a two year Advanced Diploma in Music Performance (Jazz and Contemporary) at NMIT, Ryan-Gledhill was by this time playing in and managing his own band, teaching Guitar and Bass and managing two Jazz Guitarists.
The next step was Ryan-Gledhill’s decision to start a short-lived record label. Ultimately, the dramatic rise of streaming services, combined with the small market for Jazz saw the business wind up.  Undeterred, Ryan-Gledhill formed The Broken Sweethearts, a band which ran for about a decade, focusing on original material and releasing 3 EPs and a number of singles.

In 2016 Ryan-Gledhill was diagnosed with Asperger’s.  He continued to play, write songs, work full time and take vocal coaching lessons which led to The Charlemagne Project.
Post Covid, Ryan-Gledhill noticed tremors in mainly his left hand– not great for a guitar player.  He was eventually diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021. It was a bitter blow.
As Ryan-Gledhill says “Accepting the issues Parkinson gives you, I continued to write and play, culminating in the completion of my debut album. This was scheduled with consideration of Parkinson’s with breaks between recording and keeping sessions to a reasonable length.”
“There really was only one day where my symptoms made it impossible for me to play the guitar parts required. Fortunately, Cam McKenzie (producer) stepped up and played the two parts so recording could continue.”
The end result, at age 69, is his eponymous debut album which will be released Friday 27th June.

Ralph, as he’s affectionately known, is celebrating 50+ years as one of Australia’s foremost singer / songwriters. This will of course include all my hits from the past 50 years or so (oh OK, 52 years if you insist!)

PIG DESTROYER Australian & New Zealand Tour

September 2nd – 14th, 2025 with guests WORMROT – Australia only

PIG DESTROYER boil metal down to its muscle, sinew, and bone – razor-sharp guitar, percussive pummelling, and a lone, stark howl – and use them to commit a vicious assault. The lyrics paint loathsome, frightening images of pitch-black self-hatred and the frailty of the human experience. These musical manifestations only serve to cement their already legendary status. Having not been in Australia and New Zealand since 2008, PIG DESTROYER’s long overwaited return has just one goal. To unnerve the unprepared with a deranged, grisly intensity which very few, if any, can match.

Recently reforming to the original line-up, Singapore’s WORMROT resume their genius in unleashing exquisite noise together, with the announcement of a new album ‘TNT’. Grinding faces with the best of them, their performances are intense, spectacular, furious, with a barrage of unrelenting, head-caving abuse, honed by a singular determination to destroy the competition.

LIME CORDIALE UNVEILS ORCHESTRA TOUR

Lime Cordiale announces an epic live concert experience with a selection of Australia’s finest symphony orchestras for the Lime Cordiale with the Symphony Orchestras tour.
Collaborating with Lime Cordiale on these once-in-a-lifetime performances are symphony conductor, Vanessa Scammell (Birds of Tokyo, The Cat Empire) and arranger, Alex Turley (Genesis Owusu, Dan Sultan).  Together with Lime Cordiale’s Oliver and Louis Leimbach, they have dived into the full Lime Cordiale catalogue and created an exciting set list with a symphonic twist. With over 80 musicians on stage, get ready to hear your favourite Lime tracks like never before. From stirring strings to thunderous brass, hits like ‘Robbery’, ‘Temper Temper’, ‘Dirt Cheap’ and more are soaring to electrifying new heights.
“With a cello-playing mum, we grew up playing classical clarinet and trumpet,” says the indie-pop sibling duo. “The band came together while Oli was studying at the Conservatorium, and playing in concert bands and orchestras was a big part of Lime Cordiale’s beginnings.”
“This is a major bucket-list tick for us. It’s scary and intimidating, but our inner band nerds are all for it! We can’t wait to dive into some epic orchestral arrangements of our songs.”

Lime Cordiale has amassed over 500 million streams on Spotify, 40 million Apple Music streams, with YouTube views exceeding 30 million. Their infectious performances and genuine, generous interactions with their fans have made them one of Australia’s most in-demand acts, playing to wildly enthusiastic crowds across Australia and overseas.

Lime Cordiale’s third studio album, Enough of The Sweet Talk, was released in July 2024 and was the first ever recipient of the ARIA’s Australian #1 Award, which is handed out to the best-selling homegrown album. It’s a headrush of enchanting indie-pop; a tour de force that showcases how much Lime Cordiale both continues to remain tied to their roots and evolve exponentially. The album features singles ‘Cold Treatment’, ‘The Big Reveal’, ‘Ou L’Hypocrite’, ‘Pedestal’, ‘Imposter Syndrome’, ‘Colin’, ‘Country Club’, and ‘Facts Of Life’, as well as another 6 tracks.

Earlier this month the band announced The Love Is Off The Table regional Australian tour in support of the album. The tour takes in 13 stops down the East Coast. Enough Of The Sweet Talk follows on from albums 14 Steps To A Better You and Permanent Vacation, and Cordi Elba – their acclaimed collaboration with actor/musician/DJ and record label boss Idris Elba.

CLEAN BEAST ‘Tragedy’ (Single)

The solo project of Naarm/Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist Ash K, Clean Beast is ready to unleash their unrelenting new single ‘Tragedy’. Incorporating a wide range of influences and inspirations from post-punk through rave to Berlin school electronica, Clean Beast’s style is as striking as it is unique. Ambitious soundscapes and epic imagery harmoniously and effortlessly meld to create a sound almost operatic in nature.

‘Tragedy’ is no exception. From first bar to last, it does not let up. Driving drums, piercing guitar & synths, and pummelling bass, all falling in line with Ash’s distinct vocal style, recalling the gritty instrumentation of Nine Inch Nails and the more melodic side of Depeche Mode.

“Musically it’s as close to punk as I get; no frills, no solos, no fade-outs. It bursts into your consciousness, gets the job done, and leaves.” Ash K

Broadly speaking, the track’s theme was built around a sense of helplessness felt in the face of global conflict, and the profound effect war has on all those involved. As Ash puts it; “What war doesn’t kill, it breaks forever.” Ash himself suffers from complex PTSD and autism, with depression and anxiety, and he wants this track to connect with and validate people affected by war and trauma. “You are seen and heard. It might not be much but it’s what I have to offer,” Ash explains. “Things happen, they don’t make sense, we suffer; I understand.”

Born to a family of artists and creatives, Ash admits they tried to stop him becoming one. However, despite their best efforts, music has always played a large role in his life. The origins of Clean Beast began following a tumultuous time in Ash’s life when a music therapist suggested he write a song about his recent experience. “I told him in session: “There’s nothing there…” And there wasn’t,” Ash admits. However, after returning home and decompressing, something changed. He started writing, and the words started flowing. Clean Beast as a musical outlet was created, and the music has been coming ever since.

‘Tragedy’ was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Ash at his home studio.

DEAD7 ANNOUNCE SHARPTONE RECORDS SIGNING
BAND SHARES VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE BLUR

SHARPTONE is thrilled to announce that the label has added St. Louis five-piece dead7 to the label. This week, the band, which traffics in quiet-loud dynamics, juxtaposing mossy metal with electronic flourishes, shares the video for its debut single for the label with BLUR.

A synth groan murmurs beneath bouncy, syncopated vocals before dissolving under the weight of a brain-numbing distorted riff.

“Everything is so far away when it’s Armageddon every day,” singer Jason Kozik observes, capturing the chaos of life’s uncertainties.

“It incorporates a lot of what dead7 is,” he shares. “When we wrote it, we thought, ‘This is our sound. Here we are.’ Lyrically, it’s about trying to navigate life amidst personal struggles, relationships, and the overwhelming state of the world. It feels like a blur, and you’re just trying to survive.”

After amassing millions of streams and building buzz independently, dead7 caught the attention of SharpTone Records and signed with the label in late 2024. With their dynamic sound and emotional depth, dead7 continue to push boundaries, crafting music that resonates with those searching for meaning in the noise.

Stay tuned for more from dead7.

ANGELINA CURTIS ’Stereo’ (Single Out Friday, March 21)

Fall into the teenage daydream of ‘Stereo’, the newest vivid single from singer-songwriter Angelina Curtis.  At just 17 years old, Angelina Curtis has already made a massive impact– it’s only natural, given how music has played a massive part in her life. Angelina has synaesthesia – she sees specific colours when she hears certain chords of music, which has been synthesising into beautiful music since she wrote her first song ‘Fire Between’ at 10 years old, the song that earned her first Song Of The Year Nomination. Songwriting is what Angelina is most passionate about in the world, and this passion has manifested into 300 written songs that are waiting to be recorded or released.

Since then, Angelina has skyrocketed, performing live in front of an audience of 12,000 at Perth’s RAC Arena and then live on TV for an audience of 1 million during her time on Australian Idol at just 15 years old. Her original songs have been well-received by media, drawing praise from Kyle & Jacqui O Show, CADA FM, ABC Perth, RTR FM, Triple J Unearthed, Music Notez, PerthNow, and more.

‘Stereo’ is an intricate piece crafted with the insight only a teenager has on the world. Its daydreamy electric layers contain flowy guitar riffs, echoing vocals, and electrical beats to tie together the song’s hypnotic atmosphere, a song perfect for late-night drives or for silent contemplation on the daily commute. Angelina Curtis’s clear and open vocals are perfect for the storytelling lyrics and for playing with jaw-dropping high notes to give the song an ethereal lilt. The alt-pop vibes of the song are brought together through drums and lo-fi stereo static to punctuate key lines throughout.

‘Stereo’ is a song full of contradictions and impossibilities that add to the rich atmosphere of a dream: the lyrics paint a rich picture of adolescence, playing on the desire to be seen, be heard, and be loved. The metaphors in the lyrics harken back to one of the first freedoms youth brings, driving on an open road, tying it to the troubles that come in a relationship that just isn’t working out, no matter how much effort is put into it. Angelina describes her song as,

“a metaphor for trying so hard to go somewhere but making no progress. The delusional attempt to be better, be more, be seen, be at the forefront of someone’s mind, and eventually realising that you’re just something in the background, like a stereo.”

Turn up your stereo for the newest single by Angelina Curtis, out everywhere now.

THE TERRYS SHARE SURF-ROCK GEM ‘ONCE IS NEVER ENOUGH’

Gerringong-based indie-rock upstarts The Terrys have just unveiled their bright new single ‘Once Is Never Enough’ – produced and mixed by Tasker (3%, Chillint, Tia Gostelow), Paddy Cornwall and Taras Hrubyj-Piper. Soaked in shimmering guitar strums and laid-back grooves, ‘Once Is Never Enough’ radiates warmth as Jacob “Finchie” Finch’s soulful vocals capture the rush of a fleeting summer romance. Showcasing a vibrant mix of balmy acoustic guitars, lively percussion, and bright, reverb-soaked leads interweaved with snappy melodies, the choruses are brimming with feel-good energy and a breezy, carefree charm. Whether driving along the coast or dancing barefoot in the sand, ‘Once Is Never Enough’ is a magnetic accompaniment.

The band explain the inspiration behind ‘Once Is Never Enough’:

“Is one time of a good thing worth it, or does it become torture? Is it better to love and lose than not love at all? Us Terrys know the ups and downs of living and touring, friendships and mistakes, and we put our learning into this sweet, tender song. It’s about knowing that sometimes, once you start, you can’t stop. Simply put, sometimes once is never enough.”

Following performances in late 2024 at Beyond The Valley, Chasing Tides and Hay Park, the band will embark on several regional shows in Wagga Wagga and Bungambrawatha/Albury as part of Too Turped Up Weekender in April. This continues on from selling out shows across Australia, the UK, EU & NZ and playing Australian mainstays Spaced Out Festival, Yours & Owls, NYE on the Hill, Rolling Sets and Festival of the Sun.

Last year, the band went from strength to strength, with their sophomore album ‘Skate Pop’ debuting at #2 on ARIA’s Australian Album Chart and landing a coveted triple j Feature Album spot. The singles also appeared at #93 (‘No Bad Days’), #103 (‘Hopscotch’) and #181 (‘Silent Disco’) in triple j’s Hottest 100 (2023). Their first record ‘True Colour’ also debuted at #3 on the ARIA Album Chart.

The Terrys’ true north has always been this: stay positive, take it one day at a time and look towards the horizon with a smile and, ideally, beer in hand.

Rising Artist ICONYX Releases Debut Album Blak On Trak

Rising First Nations artist ICONYX has officially released her debut album, Blak On Trak, today, March 21, via Skinnyfish Music. The album marks a significant milestone in the young artist’s career, showcasing her powerful voice, her cultural heritage, and her unique perspective as an artist telling stories and navigating the world without sight.

The album’s release follows the successful drop of ICONYX’s cover of Archie Roach’s “Mulyawongk,” which received acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone and ABC, and marked an emotional tribute to the late Roach.

ICONYX’s connection to the late Archie Roach and Gurrumul remains a significant influence, with both families granting her rare permission to perform and reimagine their music, further solidifying her place in the Australian music landscape.

Gurrumul’s family visited Perth to grant the special permission to ICONYX, asking her to keep singing his song “Baru,” the album’s third track. That ceremonial gathering also results in a song, which makes the second track of the record, “Special Gift For You (Baru).”

Blak On Trak is an expansive work that blends hip-hop, RnB, world and contemporary music, drawing from ICONYX’s Kukatja and Pintupi roots, and her experiences growing up in Whadjuk, Noongar Boodja. As a passionate songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and co-producer, ICONYX has poured herself into every aspect of the album, ensuring that each track tells a story.

The album represents a convergence of traditional storytelling with modern music, celebrating the complexity of her First Nations identity while also pushing boundaries with a forward-thinking musical approach.

Speaking about the release of Blak On Trak, ICONYX shares, “I have loved music all my life. It’s a world I am completely comfortable in and it gives me a way of expressing myself that everyone understands. I’m still learning and discovering so many things about life, and music is a way for me to talk about some of those experiences.

I feel like I’m just at the beginning and at the same time I feel a sense that I’ve completed something with Blak on Trak. Something that is full of messages and melodies and sounds that I love. I’ve been working on it for a long time with some incredible people. For anyone who hears something in my songs that means something to them, I’ve done my job as a musician. To relate to people through music and give them something from my heart.”

ICONYX’s journey has already been marked by notable achievements, including three WAM Award nominations and a win for the Act Belong Commit category in 2022 for her track “Dawn of the Future.” She has built a strong presence in Perth, performing at festivals, NAIDOC events, prestigious venues like the State Theatre Centre and Crown, and most recently opening for the beloved Emily Wurramara at Perth Festival. Now, with Blak On Trak, ICONYX is poised to reach new heights in her career.

The album’s release comes at an exciting time for the artist, who will launch the record with her performance at the Bina Biddi Showcase at Perth’s Night Owl Studio tonight, March 21. Fans are invited to join ICONYX for an unforgettable live performance that will highlight the energy and passion behind her music. With the release of Blak On Trak, ICONYX has cemented herself as a powerful new voice in the Australian music scene. The album is available today on all digital platforms.

JACOTÉNE DROPS NEW SINGLE ‘STRONGER’

Late night pleas and early morning regrets; inner heartbreak and widescreen emotions – welcome to the vividly cinematic, tear-stained yet darkly glamorous world of bright young thing JACOTÉNE, who today releases new single ‘Stronger’.

JACOTENE’s mix of defiantly unfiltered lyricism, achingly lush melodies and unapologetic grit have marked her out as a star who is undeniably and inarguably on the rise. But whereas previous single ‘Stop Calling’ was all warm, bluesy Motown soul, ‘Stronger’ is something else entirely – a gorgeously rueful and reflective dissection of a relationship fraying at the seams perfect for the wee hours, with JACOTÉNE sighing “I was going nowhere/ but you took me there faster” as shimmering piano and guitar lines twinkle and cascade all around her.

In her own words; “’Stronger’ comes from inner dialogue, much like most of the songs from my upcoming EP. This song reflects my faith and the guidance I seek from it. This song was written during a dark time, and I was searching for some answers and advice.  Sometimes when I don’t feel that I have the strength within me, I lean on my loved ones and faith, hoping that these two things will show me the way.”

Named as one of NME’s 100 of 2025, she is also currently on the cover of 10 Magazine Australia.

In the past year JACOTÉNE has played a string of festivals and live dates including her own sold-out headline show in the UK, a support slot for G FLIP on their Melbourne and Adelaide tour dates, and Tems in Sydney and Melbourne, and recently played in Germany, UK, Belgium, and The Netherlands. She has all the makings of a smart, soulful and utterly and elegantly distinctive new voice so watch this space.

JAPANESE BREAKFAST RELEASES NEW ALBUM ‘FOR MELANCHOLY BRUNETTES (& SAD WOMEN)’

Japanese Breakfast releases her anticipated new album, For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women), today via Dead Oceans. The album follows Japanese Breakfast’s recently announced performances at Sydney’s Vivid LIVE and Melbourne’s RISING festivals in June.

Produced by Grammy Award winner Blake Mills — an innovator of uncommon subtlety, known for his work with everyone from Bob Dylan to Fiona Apple and quietly regarded as many a legacy artist’s favourite guitar player — and tracked at the venerable Sound City in Los Angeles — the record sees Zauner pull back from the bright extroversion that defined its predecessor Jubilee to examine the darker waves that roil within, the moody, fecund field of melancholy, long held to be the psychic state of poets on the verge of inspiration. The result is an artistic statement of purpose: a mature, intricate, contemplative work that conjures the romantic thrill of a gothic novel.

“Over the course of promoting this new album, I’ve often been asked to clarify the difference between melancholy and sadness. I think of melancholy as a kind of anticipatory grief, one that comes from an acknowledgment of the passage of time, from the recognition of mortality and finitude. In some way, too, I think it marks the artist’s condition, constantly observing through that lens,” Zauner says of the album. “‘Nothing thicker than a knife’s blade separates happiness from melancholy,’ Virginia Woolfe writes. I wanted this album to capture the moments where that knife slips. When people want too much, when they cede to temptation, when they are seduced and punished.”

Japanese Breakfast will be celebrating the album’s release by playing a sold out album release recital tomorrow, March 22nd at El Museo del Barrio in New York. Their tour in support of For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women) kicks off with a performance at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA and continues with headline shows across North America and Europe and a stopover in Australia to play Sydney’s VIVID Live and Melbourne’s RISING festivals. The Melancholy Tour is the band’s first tour in three years, following the Jubilee Tour in 2022. All tour dates can be found below, and tickets are on sale now via japanesebreakfast.rocks.

Speaking on the album’s focus track, ‘Picture Window’—which will be accompanied by a cinematic music video set for release this weekend—Michelle says, “Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve dealt with intrusive thoughts of loved ones dying horrible deaths. When someone is running late or they’ve neglected a text or even if they’re just looking over a balcony, my mind has a tendency to run to the worst case scenario, a reflex only exacerbated by my experience of many real deaths. It can be both a relief and a struggle to love someone who doesn’t share this same proclivity for anxiety. ‘Picture Window’ explores that dynamic.”

Sadness is the dominant emotional key of this record, but it is sadness of a rarified form: the pensive, prescient sadness of melancholy, in which the recognition of life’s essentially tragic character occurs with sensitivity to its fleeting beauty. Zauner finds space enough inside it for glimmers of hope. They are the consolations of mortals that poets before her have called out to and that poets after will continue to rediscover: love and labour, and though they run like tonic resolutions through the record’s many episodes.

BEN SWISSA ‘Hush’ (EP)

Swiftly becoming Australia’s next big thing, the HUSH World Tour, is Ben’s first international headline tour. The global trek kicks off today in Frankfurt before heading to France, Lille, Olching, Munich, Paris, Berlin, Manchester, Stockholm, Gothenbury, London, Dublin, Bristol, and London. North America tour dates will be announced soon, marking another exciting milestone for the young rising star.

Ben Swissa shares, “it feels ecstatic to have this EP HUSH, out in the world. Being my first body of work, it holds some of the very first songs written, and those songs have a special place in my heart. I wanted to create something that is a clear representation of who I am and my sound. Being a guitar player from the age of 5, I’ve gotten into lots of different types of music in my short 19 years of existence. This feels like a compilation of the music that’s touched my heart and feels the most ‘me’. From the softer ballads with tracks like ‘Angel’ and ‘Before It Gets Worse’, to the more funk-inspired tracks like ‘HUSH’ & ‘Superficial’, this EP captures a snapshot of the music journey so far, and I’m proud of the love and work poured into it.”

The five track EP ‘HUSH’ is a vibrantly bold, kaleidoscopic take on contemporary, groove-heavy pop music. Recorded between the US and Australia the soulful EP includes collaborations with Zhone (Charli xcx, Troye Sivan), M-Phazes (Ruel, Remi Wolf, Amy Shark), Tony Esterly (SIA, BTS, Raekwon), Mike Irish (chlothegod), Andy Mak (Vera Blue) and Scott Horscroft (Empire of The Sun). The EP takes us on a journey through Swissa’s reflections on his school years, relationships, friends and life as a teenager, drawing on his deep appreciation for classic soul, funk, r’n’b and pop music idols.

The EP opens with ‘Superficial’, a propulsive, sunshine disco funk strut featuring dizzying synth stabs, subtle electronic enhancements and Swissa’s dazzling vocal harmonies. Debut single ‘Angel’s’  stark, gentle beat and twinkling harp feeling simultaneously classic and current tells of a fallout of a toxic relationship. Guitars muted, arpeggiating and soloing, the song has a gently roving bassline, and Swissa drapes his honeyed falsetto over the lot, hitting breathtaking heights. The title track ‘HUSH’ advances to the next step of the love affair, unable to contain the joy in living one’s truth, with a sparse, piano-led verse that explodes into a joyously bombastic chorus, while ‘Feeling Lost’ comes back down to earth, contemplating the life transition between school and adulthood with a softly insistent rhythm, deceptively uplifting chord progressions, a chiming, inspiring chorus and syrupy stacked harmonies. ‘HUSH’ closes with the latest single ‘Before It Gets Worse’, a bittersweet parting shot that combines acoustic guitar, understated atmospherics and Swissa’s pleading call to reason as he bids goodbye to one love to throw himself all-in on another.

The past year has been a busy one with Ben Swissa having wrapped up his first Australian headline tour, selling out shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. He recently supported Icelandic blues rock band KALEO and American music duo The Driver Era on their Australian tours and curated the Ben Swissa & Friends: Live Music Series.

JOLYON PETCH & TANYA GEORGE REIMAGINE “LINGER”

LISTEN HERE

King of the Australian Club Charts Jolyon Petch returns with his first single for 2025 a reimagined dance rework of The Cranberries 90s hit “Linger, out now here! At the centre of his new version is Australian vocalist Tanya George, a Melbourne-based singer that Jolyon discovered busking on Melbourne’s Bourke Street. He was instantly drawn to Tanya’s voice, and he had to get her on his next record.

The pair quickly got to work in the studio, tracking vocals that carried an unexpected depth. After fine-tuning and mastering, the final version of Linger was complete. A fresh, upbeat dance rework of a classic, the track blends Tanya George’s emotional delivery with Jolyon Petch’s signature production, bringing new energy to The Cranberries’ iconic ballad and the recent Royal Otis acoustic sessions hit.

Jolyon explains, “At the time, I had been deep in the studio, working on my own dance rework of Linger. The timing was too perfect to ignore. Hearing Tanya’s voice made it clear; I had to get her on the record. I walked straight up to her after her busking set and told her, ‘I have to get you in the studio to record this’. You can hear the honesty in her voice, which adds something really special to the track”.

Tanya was already familiar with Jolyon’s work, particularly his breakout rework of “Dreams” and his recent hit collaboration with Sheppard on “Sunshine”. She was immediately on board as she shares, “When Jolyon approached me, I was stunned that he loved my voice, but of course, I was completely on board. I love what he’s done in the dance music space and Linger is such a special song to me.”

Jolyon Petch has emerged as one of the current most accomplished DJ/producers in the Australian and New Zealand dance music scene. With over two decades of experience, Jolyon has achieved 11 #1 ARIA Club Chart singles, amassed over 125 million streams, and earned recognition as the #1 most played Australian artist on radio in 2021. His iconic rework of “Dreams” became a radio phenomenon in Australia, earning Double Platinum certification in Australia and Double Platinum in New Zealand. It has garnered over 38 million Spotify streams and 25 million Apple Music streams, solidifying its place as one of the most beloved Australian dance cover tracks of the last decade.

THE SOUTHERN DUKES ‘Free Man’ (Single Out Friday, March 28)

Perth country-rock band The Southern Dukes are making their grand debut on Friday, March 28, with a crash and a bang through their shiny new single ‘Free Man’.

Despite this single being their official debut, The Southern Dukes have been around since 2023 under the name The Eagleton Brothers, winning WA Country Group of the Year under this title. Since their rebrand, they’ve become known for their edgy, alt take on country music and electrifying performances full of twangy guitar and energetic hard-driving train grooves, carving a groove in the Perth music scene and capturing the attention of fans across the region.

Produced by the band’s guitarist, Justin Gimm, to showcase their signature sound, ‘Free Man’ is the perfect foundation to build their catalogue up on in their upcoming releases. The song blends the storytelling power of classic country ballads with the driving rhythm and punches of rock.

With Justin Gimm weaving high-intensity melodies on lead guitar and organ, Brandon Poletti’s honest vocals, the frantic drumming of Miles Gilbert, and Riley Burrows’s subtle, building basslines, this song showcases the immense skill of each band member and etches a rich narrative.

With toe-tapping drums and guitar hooks that catch into the brain, ‘Free Man’ is more than a song; it’s a story with an infectious energy. The country-rasp vocals and the danceable tune tell the thrilling tale of a prison break, an escape from Alcatraz, capturing the thrill, tension, and determination through playing in the minor key and keeping the beat quick to capture the rushed thrill of breaking free.

Get swept away in this tale of prison break told by The Southern Dukes in their newest single ‘Free Man’ when it comes out on Friday, March 28th.

DIVIDE AND DISSOLVE SHARE NEW SINGLE ‘GRIEF’
NEW ALBUM, INSATIABLE, ARRIVING APRIL 18TH

Divide and Dissolve, helmed by Black and Cherokee composer and multi-instrumentalist Takiaya Reed, will release their new album, Insatiable, on April 18 via Bella Union. The 10-track album runs the gamut of doom metal – from the ear-splitting depths of lead single ‘Monolithic‘ to contemplative, softer moments on the aptly titled song ‘Grief’, released today.

Like all of Divide and Dissolve music, Insatiable is almost entirely instrumental. While the album’s sheer grandiosity represents an evolution in Divide and Dissolve’s sound, it also marks the very first time that Takiaya has ever lent vocals to a D//D song. On ‘Grief’ her distorted voice echoes atop a vibrating bass tone, repeating the lyrics: “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do/ I’m so lonely without you.” Takiaya explains, “The voice is such a mysterious instrument. This album feels different, and I wanted to honour that”.

The accompanying video was directed by Sepi Mashiahof, who shares, “The video is an ode to the feelings of empowerment, resistance, and sadness that Divide and Dissolve weaves into our bodies. It’s an expressionist diary made up of dissonant and revelatory memories.”

The album title Insatiable, came to Takiaya in a dream. She had a vision of a better world, one that gelled seamlessly with the optimism of her take on heavy music: “I saw and have felt the impact of people committing great acts of harm, causing pain in a never ending cycle. I have also seen and felt the strength and power of people committing great acts of love,” she says. For Takiaya, this is what it means to be “insatiable”; it’s the way we choose either a path of destruction or one of compassion and experience it to its fullest. “It’s an album about love, and it feels important to experience this, now more than ever.”

Divide and Dissolve’s music is an acknowledgement of the dispossession that occurs due to colonial violence, it honours ancestors, opposes white supremacy and calls for indigenous sovereignty. Already legends on the international doom metal scene, the new album is an evolution of sound and intricacy. Strapped with thunderstorms of crashing cymbals, crunchy feedback, stomach-churning riffs and neo-classical inflections, the new collection delves into the idea of freedom through impermanence and destruction vs compassion, an urgent call to imagine a better world before it’s too late.

The new album follows 2023’s Systemic, produced by Ruban Neilson of Unknown Mortal Orchestra and their widely acclaimed third album Gas Lit in 2021, which was hailed Mary Anne Hobbs’ Album of the Year. Divide and Dissolve have supported Chelsea Wolfe, Low, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Deafheaven and performed headline dates and festivals around the world, including Supersonic, End of the Road, VIVID, Mona Foma, and Unsound.

OLIVIA DE MELO & KEELEY CONNOLLY ‘Coffee’ ft. Michael Kay & Muranji (Single)

Olivia De Melo and Keeley Connolly are teaming up for a collab smooth as creamer in their newest single, ‘Coffee’, featuring the talents of Muranji and Michael Kay, out now This single is the collaboration between Olivia De Melo and Keeley Connolly, who crossed paths years ago in the Western Australian music scene and clicked together like a puzzle piece. They state:

“It was only a matter of time before we became lifelong friends and inevitable collaborators. We’re stoked to share this fresh, yet familiar vibe that captures our growth and the worlds we’re merging.

For the unacquainted, Olivia De Melo is a fixture of Perth’s music scene, known for her multi-genre but still recognisable sound, marked through her distinctive vocals, rich harmonies and fluid melody lines. Olivia has performed at many of Western Australia’s most iconic venues and with some incredible artists, including Abbe May, Dulcie, Nick Cunningham, Timothy Nelson, Joan & The Giants, Otiuh, Old Blood, and many others. Keeley Connolly’s presence is just as impressive, having supported Kim Churchill and Slumberjack, as well as Ralph Lauren using her music for an international campaign, all the while working as a teacher to nurture the future generation of musicians.

Their new single is slow, electronic, easy breezy and a little solemn. With its contemplative, meditative melodies and gentle melodic alt-pop vocals over a chilled-out lo-fi beat, this song feels like the peaceful end of a house party. The dreamy indie tunes that Olivia and Keeley bring to the track are balanced with the smooth rap flow from Tanzanian artist Muranji and charming R&B vocals from Zambian-born, Melbourne-based Michael Kay, whose distinctive sounds help lift up the message of the track.

With lyrics that delve into the fumbles and mumbles of life, along with the softer moments, this track is a chill ode to quiet self-reflection. The duo share that,

“This track is like a coffee break for the soul — reflecting on those drunk texts, life’s little regrets, and the messiness of it all. It’s cheeky, but it’s about knowing you’ll always find your way, even through the chaos.”

CLAMM SHARE NEW SINGLE  ‘NO IDEA’ + ANNOUNCE ‘SERIOUS ACTS’  HEADLINE AUS TOUR
FORTHCOMING ALBUM  SERIOUS ACTS  OUT FRIDAY 30 MAY
PRE-ORDER NOW

Hailing from Naarm/Melbourne, punk trio CLAMM—comprising Jack Summers, Miles Harding, and Stella Rennex—delve into the tumultuous experience of youth striving to lead an authentic and principled life in an increasingly chaotic world. Their music confronts the challenges of navigating entrenched systems of power and oppression while striving to preserve mental well-being and a strong sense of self. Through their raw and visceral sound, CLAMM aspires to foster community, ignite creativity, and provide a channel for catharsis.

Following the recent announce of their highly anticipated third studio album, today CLAMM return with second single ‘No Idea’ and share details on their upcoming Aus headline tour. CLAMM have never shied away from facing harsh dystopian realities head on. The Naarm/Melbourne punk trio’s very existence is rooted in resistance to an ever-intensifying, tumultuous world; ‘while we see the same problems around us, problems that are probably only getting worse, I think we are going to continue to make music that is attempting to push against it,’ guitarist and vocalist Jack Summers says. On their latest album Serious Acts, due out 30th May via Meat Machine, this incisive directness is sharper, and more necessary, than ever.

Speaking on the creation of ‘No Idea’, Summers shares; ‘No Idea’ is one of the more standard CLAMM/punk songs on the album. We came up with a jangley riff on guitar and looped it, as we often do. It’s filled with lyrics and hard to sing. There’s so many words I felt like I was rapping when we were recording it. Lyrically it almost became a bit of a nod to a song called ‘Confused’ off our first album. The reality is, the content of our words will maybe shift through our making but the same problems in life remain and are probably only getting worse, so as far as I can tell we are going to keep pushing against it. It’s about injustice, living in a system where our work fuels the endless profits of the wealthy elite, our current inability to change that system and lastly the fact that we really have no idea about what truly goes on.’

All dates and ticket links to CLAMM’s upcoming Australian tour below, on sale now.

YORKE ‘Sorry In Advance’ (Single) ‘Unfinished Business’ (EP out June 13)

LISTEN + STREAM

Australian alt-pop artist Yorke is back with a brand new single ‘sorry in advance’ from the upcoming new EP ‘unfinished business’ out June 13, available to pre-order now HERE.

The pulsating supercharged pop song, ‘sorry in advance’ was co-written with Ciara Muscat (TWICE, Red Velvet, Itzy, tripleS) and produced by SB90 (Thandi Phoenix, Fractures). It taps into a K-pop melodic and arrangement style, alongside Yorke’s sultry and effortless vocals. They say one of the hardest things to do as a musician is write a happy song; well, Yorke has not just written a ‘happy’ song, but a determined, assertive, cheeky one at that. This is Yorke as we’ve never seen her before.

Yorke shares, “on the way to the studio that day, I found out that my song ‘Window Shopping’ was suddenly charting on Shazam in Japan, three years after its release. The response for that song over there has been pretty incredible to be honest. I started thinking about the songwriting itself, and how funny it was that if I’d written it now, I’d have a much more jaded/unapologetic view about dating (less trying to impress someone and more putting myself first). We played around with this idea in the session, and Window Shopping’s older sister song was born!.”

‘sorry in advance’ is the third single from the new EP ‘unfinished business’, following the pop track with the irresistible chorus ‘i wanna hate you’ and the catchy electronic-pop song ‘love on the run’ . Accompanying the track is a music video visualiser, taking us behind the scenes from the cinematic inspired video shoot sets from ‘i wanna hate you’ and ‘love on the run’, giving us a glimpse into the fun and playful world of Yorke – watch HERE.

‘unfinished business’ takes us on the next exciting era for Yorke, diving deeper into the pulsating, dark

pop world, with a renewed and fearless confidence and sparkle. With Yorke’s warm and relatable vulnerability along with her innate songwriting prowess feeling more dynamic than ever, it’s a sophisticated, masterful step forward for this young artist; a nod towards a vast, untapped well of personal creativity. “I just wanted to create a fun, dynamic pop project fans could dance to,” Yorke says.

Crafted by Yorke between Australia, Los Angeles, London and New Zealand ‘unfinished business’ was inspired by the new wave of love, acceptance, and growth, life in all its beauty; good vs bad, dark vs light and the moments between. As the EP title alludes to ‘unfinished business’ implies a loose thread, a story still yet to be told. “For me, unfinished business feels like the beginning of my creative freedom, and I’ve still got so much more left to give and so much room for growth,” Yorke shares.

Yorke was recently announced as an ARIA Collab artist – a landmark program designed to catapult Australian talent onto the global stage through high-impact collaborations with international producers – and will work with GRAMMY- nominated producer Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, BTS).Yorke is also getting ready to travel to Japan to perform with Japanese rock band Indigo la End on June 21 at the sold-out Tokyo International Forum Hall show performing ‘sorry in advance’. She recently wrapped up her ‘Young In Love’ regional tour supporting Kita Alexander, and has shared the stage with music legends Ball Park Music, Amy Shark, The Veronicas, Ruel, Peach PRC, San Cisco, and UK stars Lewis Capaldi, Good Neighbours, Dylan. Her festival credits include Spilt Milk and For The Love.

Internationally, Yorke has made a significant impact in Japan and Korea with her viral single ‘Window Shopping’ ft. Joan, which has garnered over 12.1 million streams in those markets and 24.1 million streams overall.  Her music has been shared by K-Pop titans TWICE and SixTONES, and Indigo la End used her single ‘like in the movies’ as their walk on track for their tour earlier this year.

With two EP releases and 43 million streams under her belt, Yorke’s next era of new music is set to add to these impressive credentials, as she takes this creative leap forward with more boldness and fearlessness than ever before, and we are ready to go on the ride with her.

PSYCHEDELIC PORN CRUMPETS  ‘WEIRD WORLD AWOKE’ from forthcoming seventh studio album CARPE DIEM, MOONMAN

Perth’s finest, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, continue their onslaught in 2025 with the release of a brand new single & announcing details of their seventh record, due in May. Carpe Diem, Moonman promises to be another weird & wonderful journey through the mind of Jack McEwan, the talisman of the Perth 5-piece.

It’s announced alongside brand-new single ‘Weird World Awoke’, another ferocious blast of inimitable rock & roll, with a lyrical rollercoaster to keep pace with the relentless tempo and guitar slaloms. McEwan himself had this to say about the new record, “Carpe Diem, Moonman is an entanglement of chaos, the bi-product of excessive touring, an explosion of doubt, wonder, excitement, dog bites, Greek philosophy, death, weekend benders and a partridge in a pear tree, a mongrel of sorts. There’s so many genres, flavours, cream crackers and fairground amusements packed into CDM. It blasts out the gates, takes you for a spin then leads you off into somewhere beautiful, fun and enthralling. I want people to come back and find something new with each listen.”

Available on limited edition vinyl in multiple colourways, the album is available to pre-order from the band’s webstores now.

Speaking about the new single ‘Weird World Awoke’, McEwan had this to say:
“It’s all getting a bit strange ain’t it? Or are we just older now and it’s always been like this? Will it get better? Music alike is a delusional puzzle, a craft of nonsense to most, but every now and again you hear a tune that keeps you ticking. This….is not even close but it’s different. And that’s good, for some.”

The release of Carpe Diem, Moonman follows on from Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ 2023 album, Fronzoli, an impassioned and chaotic release that re-established the band as one of the best to come out of the West Coast.

With over 200 million streams across DSPs, the ARIA Award nominated group is an international favourite as well as a beloved live act at home, presenting their hectic shows at events like Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Laneway Festival, Desert Daze, The Great Escape, SXSW, BIGSOUND and All Points East; while sharing stages with Interpol, Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves & more.

With the release of Carpe Diem, Moonman set to bring Psychedelic Porn Crumpets back to radars in a big way, the band has announced their first set of global tour dates for the year, including national Australian tour dates, currently underway and continuing into April.

These 45 initial tour dates through Australia, the United States, UK and Europe is just the beginning; another 80 shows are already in the diary and will be announced soon. Full tour and tickets can be found at psychedelicporncrumpets.com.

ICONIC AUSTRALIAN DANCE ACT SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM DROPS NEW SINGLE “SHIVER”

Sneaky Sound System, the Australian duo known for dancefloor anthems UFOI Love It and Pictures, has released Shiver, their first single since 2023 and first since 2019 without a collaborative partner. After recent tracks with electronic legends John Dahlback and Norman Doray (and further back, with Tiesto), Sneaky Sound System’s Connie Mitchell and Angus McDonald created Shiver together in their Bondi home studio. LISTEN HERE

“We wrote this track a while ago, but it’s only now that it feels like the right time to release it,” said Angus. “Shiver is about that electrifying feeling when love takes over,” said Connie. “We wanted it to be euphoric and impossible to resist.”

Produced by Angus and featuring Connie’s glorious and unmistakeable vocals – she was named one of the Top 20 Australian singers of all time by the Herald Sun – Shiver captures the energy that made Sneaky Sound System a defining force in Australian dance music. The track arrives at a time when nostalgia for early 2000s electronic beats is surging, making it a perfect track for release right now.

Shiver sets the stage for more releases and a live schedule that still makes them one of the busiest performing artists in the country today. “Shiver is just the beginning,” said Angus. “We have more singles in the works that we plan to drop regularly throughout 2025.”

SOMA + BRAZEN BARBIE TEAM UP FOR HEADLINE SHOWS THIS MAY

SOMA’S COBRA MIXTAPE STREAMING NOW. BRAZEN BARBIE’S NEW SINGLE SWEET TALK STREAMING NOW

This May, two of the brightest stars in the Aussie hip hop scene will team up for two very special joint headline shows, with Sydney eclectic sorceress Soma and Melbourne-based rap guru Brazen Barbie set to join forces. With each artist headlining their respective hometown headline show, Soma and Brazen Barbie will perform on Saturday May 10 at The Chippo Hotel in Sydney, and on Saturday May 17 at The Laundry in Melbourne, with both artists armed with some brand new material primed to dazzle fans in the live setting.

Tickets for Soma and Brazen Barbie’s headline shows go on on sale to the general public on Tuesday April 1 at 10am AEDT from Oztix and Moshtix.

A powerful songstress fluent in blending neo soul, electronica and alternative hip hop with her own unique flair, Soma’s chameleonic artistry developed at a young age, expanding into her solo work that effortlessly straddles relatability and razor-sharp execution. Drawing her creative moniker from the idea of nourishment for the soul, Soma’s blurring of genres and expectations centres music as a universal language, capable of healing, connectivity, and as a powerful avenue for navigating the complexities of the digital age.

Kicking off 2025 with the release of her debut mixtape COBRA, Soma traversed themes of life, love, loss, self-discovery, letting go and taking control, with 11 powerful tracks enticing you into Soma’s staggering creative universe that stylistically spanned hip hop, futuristic soul and beyond. An artist renowned for her ability to fuse timeless charm with raw emotion and modernity, Soma’s cutting-edge creative aesthetics transcends onstage, with her live performances also offering an abundance of energy, connection and storytelling, resulting in a transformative experience that will be on full display this May alongside fellow Aussie powerhouse Brazen Barbie.

“This is a really exciting collaboration for me!” enthuses Soma of the upcoming shows with Brazen Barbie. “Brazen Barbie and I have been supporting each other from afar for a while now. I actually came across her incredible talent online, and I was just drawn to her energy, her voice, and her raw, unapologetic style. She’s someone who really stands out, and I couldn’t help but follow her journey and see how she was taking the Australian music scene by storm. I’ve always admired her confidence and how she represents herself as a powerful, multicultural woman in this industry. Our connection makes sense, not just because of the mutual respect we have for each other’s artistry, but because we both share similar backgrounds as multicultural women in the Australian music scene. I grew up in a diverse environment that exposed me to a wide range of music and sounds, which shaped my unique style. Similarly, Brazen’s roots are deep in her Kenyan-Australian heritage, and she channels that energy in her music, too. We both come from a place of richness in culture, and it’s such a beautiful thing to bring that to life through music.”

Kenyan-Australian, Perth-via-Melbourne artist Brazen Barbie is a genuine force to be reckoned with, wielding a compelling voice, bold lyricism and a rawness that pierces the heart and the mind. An increasing fixture on the Australian R&B and hip hop scenes, Brazen Barbie’s musical flame first sparked in primary school, with her early experiences playing cello and singing ultimately leading to her pursuing the steps of the likes of rapper Gangsta Boo and crunk pioneer Duke Deuce; but eternally with her own voice laced throughout. Previously performing at Sydney Fringe Festival, BIGSOUND, and SXSW, Brazen Barbie also started off 2025 with a bang via the release of a new track: Sweet Talk.

A sleek and bold outing, Sweet Talk channels Brazen Barbie’s ever-burgeoning trademark authenticity along with nods to some of her earliest influences, including Missy Elliott, Eve and Megan Thee Stallion. A matured release that steps into some new territory for the Melbourne-based rapper off the back of a string of potent singles released in 2024, Sweet Talk will be on the menu for fans this May in a live setting, as will Brazen Barbie’s unapologetic world where females reign, perfectly complemented by teaming up with fellow femme rising star Soma.

“Expect to be immersed in an unapologetic world where females reign, egos are slaughtered,” shares Brazen Barbie of the upcoming shows this May. “I’m impenitent with my message and presence. I love wordplay, and making music that makes people feel something, whether that’s hyped, empowered, confident, or feeling heard/understood.”

“Soma and I connected through the scene and admire each other’s work,” adds Brazen Barbie. “We’ve got that mutual respect and appreciation for each other’s craft so it makes sense to join forces and turn that into something even bigger. Our juxtaposing styles complement each other. I’m really excited for these upcoming shows because I’ll be performing some brand-new stuff, including a few tracks that push into different genres. I’ve been experimenting with new sounds, and it’s been really exciting finding ways to blend them with my style. It still has that Brazen flavour I’m known for, but with a fresh twist of the unexpected.”

Tickets for Soma and Brazen Barbie’s headline shows on onsale to the general public on Tuesday April 1 at 10am AEST from Oztix and Moshtix.

TEINA ‘FMY’ (Single)

Back with his first release of the year, Perth-based indie artist Teina has just released a brand new single titled ‘FMY’. True to his brand of heartfelt hip-hop, combined with some stunning indie guitar-pop sensibilities, ‘FMY’ is gentle and warm in its sonic qualities, while raw and emotionally vulnerable in its lyrical content. Touching on the personal themes behind the song, and how he hopes it should sit with listeners, Teina said:

“I wrote this song for a couple of people I don’t get to see anymore, it’s my most meaningful song, but I want people to hear it and have their own meaning to it… whether it be a break up or a friend they fell out with, it’s a huge song I feel like it has the power for that.”  TEINA

A song which Teina worked on in phases, ‘FMY’ became something of an outlet of emotion and deeply personal meaning for the artist, revolving tightly around some heartbreaking life events which ultimately lead to its coming together as a final track:

“This song came to [life] over a couple of months; I started writing it for my friend that passed and didn’t quite finish until another loved one of mine passed. It was an emotional song for me to get through and create but it means the world to me and I hope they hear it every time I perform it.”  TEINA

While still in the early days of his career, Teina has already taken strides in the scene and established himself as a promising up-and-comer. Having previously opened live shows for the likes of Royel Otis and South Summit, Teina has amassed a steady following of over 12K followers on social media, and around 100K streams on Spotify across just a handful of singles.

‘FMY’ is out Thursday March 27th
