LUCY GALLANT ‘DEVIOUS’ (Single and European Tour Announcement)
On Friday 5th July, globe-trotting singer-songwriter Lucy Gallant is set to release her most provocative track yet. ‘Devious’ is a sultry, soul-pop track that delves deep into the addictive nature of passion-fueled intimacy, exploring the intense and often unhealthy obsessions that come with it.

“DEVIOUS” captures the essence of an irresistible yet toxic relationship. Her lyrics paint a vivid picture of the addiction to a sexual partner who is undeniably bad for you, yet the passion and intimacy are unparalleled. She compares this addiction to substances like caffeine or nicotine, illustrating how the relationship is both stimulating and damaging.

Teaming up with Gold Coast Local, award-winning producer Josh Beattie, Lucy is pushing beyond her existing boundaries and exploring innovative new styles and sounds that hint at a sensual darkness lurking beneath her angelic exterior.

Beattie’s masterful production has transformed “DEVIOUS” into a cinematic masterpiece, blending soul-pop, cinematic pop, trip-hop, and vintage vibes. Lucy’s vocals distinguish themselves as a captivating blend of power, grit, and sensuality. The result is a track that not only tells a compelling story but also makes listeners feel the raw intensity of passion and desire.

“In recent years, I’ve navigated through profound losses and experiences that have deeply shaped my music. My new sound reflects how I’ve channeled these experiences into my songwriting. Stepping into my own power, I’ve discovered a reservoir of confidence. Embracing the strength of my womanhood, I’ve conquered past fears. Now, I’m ready to declare to the world: here I am, crank up the volume and listen closely to my lyrics—I have a lot to say, and I’m not afraid to say it.” – Lucy Gallant

Lucy has made a significant impact on the international music scene, captivating audiences at major festivals such as Glastonbury and Byron Bay Bluesfest. Her 2023 EP “Flowers” marked a pivotal moment in her career, garnering her a substantial following and a dedicated fanbase exceeding 100k across various platforms.

“DEVIOUS” is set to be a standout addition to her impressive discography. With its seductive allure and powerful production, this single will resonate with fans old and new alike.

Lucy will embark on a European tour to promote her new single “DEVIOUS” throughout July, August, and September 2024. The tour will feature a series of intimate shows, house concerts, and festivals, marking her first return to Europe in four years due to the lockdowns. She is thrilled to reconnect with her European fans and share her latest music in such unique and personal settings.

PRESLEY DAVIS JR. ‘Heart Of My Heart’, ‘Showdown’ & ‘Convincing Me’ (Singles)
A sentimental jazz song, a country ode to heartache and a sultry soul gem collide in another trifecta single release from singer-songwriter, actor and creative cauldron Presley Davis Jr. Balancing various genres across his brand new tracks, Heart of My Heart, Showdown and Convincing Me, all out today, Presley’s eclectic prowess grows to new heights as he steps ever-closer to the upcoming release of three simultaneous albums; Roadside Magnolia, Torana Americana and Birdlife, with these albums forming into the amalgamated Eclecta Trifecta collective, due out on July 23.

Kicking off in swoon city, Presley’s first new single out today, Heart of My Heart, doles out the charm with ambling brass and tinkling keys as Presley effortlessly channels classic jazz with hints of barbershop charm throughout. A time-travelling delight that hastens you back to the golden age of Bing Crosby and poetic lyricism, Heart of My Heart also beckons another snapshot into Presley’s upcoming full length album Roadside Magnolia dropping this July as part of the Eclecta Trifecta project. “Heart of My Heart is a classic old jazz number,” shares Presley. “I love this song because of the beautiful sentiment in it. Modern pop music lyrics don’t have phrases like “I know a tear would glisten, if once more I could listen”. This was a pop song back in the day, just think about that for a moment. It’s definitely influenced by classic singers like Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Dean Martin. I used to sing a lot of barbershop music when I was young and if you’re at my favourite pizza bar on a Tuesday you might hear the local barbershop group rehearsing at the next table.”

Next up, throwback country meets modern bliss via Showdown; the latest single from Presley’s forthcoming Torana Americana album as part of Eclecta Trifecta. With its crooning lyrics and sunny twang, Showdown bustles with warm instrumentals and poignant vocals, tapping into the past and the future simultaneously, as Presley explains, “I really love older country music like Willie Nelson and Hank Williams. I also like alternative country and roots artists like Gillian Welch and Anders Osborne. In this song you can hear the old with a bit of the new mixed in. This song was inspired by some of my past relationships. Sometimes you break up because it isn’t working, but then you get lonely, so you go back. Wash, rinse, repeat. We’ve all been there, haven’t we?”

And completing today’s simultaneous single release from Presley Davis Jr. is Convincing Me; a sumptuous and sleek concoction of funk and soul that could easily find itself at home soundtracking a salacious piece of cinema with its swaggering bassline and lush sonic backdrop. “I often write songs by playing a different instrument for a while,” shares Presley of conjuring Convincing Me. “Toying around with bass guitar often results in a song for me and that is what happened here. The original “scratch” lyrics for this were about going outside of your normal parameters for who you would sleep with – “you’re not my type, but…you’re convincing me.” When I revisited it, I thought that was a tad offensive so I rephrased it as “we shouldn’t go there, but you’re convincing me”. I can see this being included on a soundtrack because there is so much cheating and shagging going on in TV and movies these days. I love listening to Prince, Stevie Wonder, James Brown and I think you can definitely hear some of those influences on this track.”

The task of simultaneously creating three full-bodied and stylistically diverse albums saw Presley dive into a horde of personally meaningful genres, with the Eclecta Trifecta project also evolving from his experience during the pandemic years. Evaluating himself both personally and professionally at the time, Presley’s soul searching ultimately led to him settling on the idea to release a three-album project, with all three albums in three different styles set to release on the same day. A jack of all musical trades and adopting his stage name to honour Elvis Presley and Sammy Davis Jr., it seemed predestined that Presley Davis Jr would find himself immersed in the arts.

Heart of My Heart, Showdown and Convincing Me are out today, Tuesday June 25.
Roadside Magnolia, Torana Americana and Birdlife, aka the Eclecta Trifecta, are due out on Friday July 23

BULLY HAY ‘Wash Off The World’ (Single/Video)
Undulating and revitalising, the brand new single Wash Off The World out today from Tasmanian singer-songwriter Bully Hay drives home a message of empowerment and inspiration, topped off with the addition of The Tea Party’s Jeff Martin on production, recording and mixing duties. Also armed with an accompanying music video, Wash Off The World marks Bully Hay’s first single off his forthcoming debut album, Black Dogs and Songbirds due out later this year on Wednesday October 30.

Teaming up with his musical hero, Tea Party’s Jeff Martin to bring Wash Off The World to fruition, Bully Hay also channelled notions of enlightenment and awakening into the uplifting track, with Bully Hay penning the song almost a decade ago before ultimately jumping in with Martin to unleash it into the world in 2024. “Working with Jeff would be up there in the top memorable times of my life!” says Bully Hay. “I’d met Jeff through a mutual friend one night in Hobart after he played a solo gig down there. We ended up having a few drinks and sharing a few songs with each other. Jeff offered to produce a record of my songs.  I let him know it was a deal as long as he played some guitar on the record, and we shook on it.  At the time I thought it was just booze talking, but sure enough the next day it was all confirmed that it was going to happen.  Throughout last year Jeff and his wife Melissa welcomed me into their home where I lived for about a month throughout the year and really got stuck into the songs in the studio. At first it was pretty nerve wracking as I really didn’t know what to expect. Jeff and I didn’t know each other apart from hanging out for a few hours one time after his show.  And he knew nothing about me, so was most probably hoping I wasn’t some kind of psycho coming to live at his house! But as the days passed and the music was taking shape, we found we had a lot in common and became really great friends. The actual recording process was really fascinating for me. As Jeff has recorded so many albums, solo and with The Tea Party, I was just soaking it all in like a sponge.  The highlights for me would be when Jeff would pick up a guitar and come up with these amazing lines to accentuate or soup up my guitar parts. I am not a lead guitarist, so to have Jeff Martin play lead on my record was pretty bloody awesome. The luck factor here is not lost on me.”

“Wash Off The World is the first single from my debut album Black Dogs and Songbirds which is a full length, 11 track album I’ll be releasing later this year,” Bully Hay concludes. “Working with Jeff Martin on this album as my producer was a huge honour. He was able to draw these songs out of me and make them the best that they could possibly be.  Listening to these songs, you’ll hear influences like Paul Kelly, Crowded House, Powderfinger, Soundgarden, Jeff Buckley and The Tea Party coming through, but the album now has its own Bully Hay sound.  We’ve created something really special. Sharing the album will be my absolute pleasure. I can’t wait to get it out there.”

Currently blowing minds on the international power pop scene with his band Rinehearts and their Dom Mariani-produced album Full Bloom, Perth’s Benny J Ward is set to hit the East Coast in September for his first ever shows with his band of Melbourne all-stars, Davey Lane (You Am I/Pictures/Todd Rundgren etc.), Link Meanie (Meanies, duh) and Matt Cotter (Even). Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty, the tribute album lovingly curated by some of legendary musician Tom Petty’s closest friends and collaborators in Country and Americana music, is out now via Big Machine Records in partnership with the Tom Petty Estate. An inside look at the story behind the album was also released today—watch “Welcome To Petty Country” HERE.

“There’s a saying in Nashville ‘it all begins with a song’,” says Bluegrass pioneer and featured tribute artist Marty Stuart. “Well, in this case, it begins with the song and the songwriter. I don’t think anybody can challenge Tom Petty when it comes to songwriting. He touched the American heart—critics, fans, the musicians, everyone agrees on Tom’s songs. There’s just a special magic about him.”

Stuart continues, “It’s incredibly rare to find musicians who can navigate and completely understand the intersection of Rock & Roll, Country, Gospel and Folk. That’s what Tom (Petty) & The Heartbreakers did so well. They’re America’s greatest Rock & Roll band.”

Executive produced by Petty’s close confidant, 2x Grammy® award-winner George Drakoulias (Barbie, The Black Crowes, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), with 2x Grammy award-winner Randall Poster (Killers of the Flower Moon, Skyfall, Wes Anderson) and Scott Borchetta (Big Machine Label Group), Petty Country finds some of the most lauded voices in Country music exploring the extensive Petty catalog and putting their own personal touches on some of his greatest hits. Highlights include a handful of songs by Petty’s longtime friends and collaborators, such as George Strait, Steve Earle, Willie Nelson with Lukas Nelson, Bluegrass pioneer Marty Stuart and The Heartbreakers’ Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench. Contemporary Country superstars Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Wynonna Judd, Carly Pearce, Lady A, Margo Price, Rhiannon Giddens—who most recently played banjo and viola on Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”—Thomas Rhett and Lainey Wilson also pay tribute to the late musician with their own spin on fan favorites.

In celebration of the new music, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Tom Petty: Where I Come From is open now. The special showcase highlights how the late rocker’s southern roots shaped his music and his continued influence on new generations of Country music artists, featuring several artifacts seen in the “Southern Accents” music video, from Petty’s wide-ranging and generation-defining career—such as tour assets from his 2001 Way Out West tour, an iconic Nudie suit inspired “Planets” blazer worn famously during his 1985 Southern Accents tour, “Southern Accents” handwritten song lyrics, western style wardrobe pieces worn on and off stage and Petty’s Gretsch 6130 Roundup Western electric guitar. The display is included with museum admission and runs through summer 2025 as an extension of their acclaimed “Western Edge” exhibit.

Additionally, Nashville’s downtown will transform this weekend into Petty Country, USA to honor the icon’s legacy and the album’s release. Beginning at midnight on June 21 through Sunday, June 23, dozens of bars and honky tonks around Broadway will host hour-long “Petty Power Hours,” give away exclusive merch and more.

Tom Petty, albeit widely known for his rocker grit and California anthems, is often credited as contemporary Country music’s biggest Rock influence. A Gainesville, Florida native, Petty straddled the American coasts, leaving his native Florida for his adopted home of Los Angeles, while keeping one foot firmly rooted in the south. The region’s influence can be heard throughout Petty’s discography, with lyrics about growing up in the south paired with his famous airtight melodies and rough vocal character that defines the state of Country music today.

Petty’s deep roots in Country music saw collaborations and long-lasting friendships with a number of the genre’s greatest artists, including Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash (The Heartbreakers were the backing band on Cash’s Unchained), June Carter Cash, Marty Stuart, John Prine, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, George Strait, Hank Williams Jr. and Willie Nelson. Today, Country songwriters consistently reference their love and admiration for Petty, and in many ways, how Petty’s influence shaped their own sound.

Over his 40-year career, Tom Petty became one of the biggest cultural icons in the world. In addition to the 13 studio albums he made with the Heartbreakers, Petty recorded three solo albums, including the acclaimed Full Moon Fever and Wildflowers. Petty was also a member of the supergroup, Traveling Wilburys, and in the pre-Heartbreakers band, Mudcrutch. Hailed as one of the greatest Rock artists of all time, Petty’s list of achievements include multiple Grammy Award winner, 80+ million records sold, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Tom Petty passed away in 2017 shortly after completing his 40th anniversary tour, but his music continues to reach fans, both new and old, around the world today.

ALICE ANDERSEN ‘Blue’ (Single)
Melbourne folk artist Alice Andersen releases first song, ‘Blue’ from upcoming EP. Alice Andersen returns to her roots with the release of her heartfelt folk EP, ‘Blue’. From the very first moment of this five track EP, Andersen’s velvety tone immediately grabs you, bringing to mind the likes of Neko Case, Feist or Jenny Mitchell.
On the opener, ‘Blue’, she’s up close to your ear, letting you in on some deeply personal reflections about what it’s like to navigate love when life gets serious – when baggage and expectations build up, and it feels impossible to find common ground with a potential partner. Blue has an irresistible, meandering feel that makes you want to pack a bag, drive down the coast, and get away from all the hard stuff.
The theme of futile or complicated love runs through the whole collection, which traverses folk, country and jazz, but all woven together by the thread of Andersen’s smooth and warm vocal. The songwriting across the EP is natural, heartfelt and beautiful, and the instrumentation throughout is simple yet lush. There’s thoughtful lead guitar playing and gorgeous strings in just the right places to highlight the emotion of the songs.

About Alice Andersen
Alice grew up singing from a young age – but it wasn’t until she was living in London that she realized that singing in a band was something she could do. After returning to Australia, she decided she wanted to sing her own stories – so she got writing.   By early 2020 Alice was planning her first album when the pandemic hit. Feeling stuck, she took a detour to write and develop a synth-pop single, ‘Dance with you’ – a gentle but uplifting track featuring jangly guitars and heart-thumping drums – all underpinned by her folk story-telling sensibility.
Now, in 2024, Alice is finishing off what she started, with the release of her first EP, ‘Blue’. Featuring five tracks written across five years, it’s a synthesis of pre and post pandemic life: detailing complicated love, loss and isolation.

RAVEN & THE DOVE ‘Love Looks’ (Single)
Enter into the enchanting midsummer night forest with Raven & the Dove as they create a dreamscape of love, illusion and lies with their new single, “Love Looks”. “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind; And therefore is wing’d Cupid painted blind.” ~ Shakespeare ‘Love Looks’ is a Shakespearean dream-pop bossa nova showcasing Cindy Lee and David Swift’s lyricism, harmonic melodies, and playful musicianship.

Originally written for their 2023 East Gippsland Winter Festival show ‘Cave Songs’—performed inside the Buchan Caves named after A Midsummer Night’s Dream—the duo have bought their song to life in this recording. Cindy’s lush velvet vocals and the bluesy autumnal tones of Dave’s guitar conjure spirited visions of the magic and mayhem of love and nature.

Think Nancy & Lee meets Nick Cave
“The refrain of ‘love looks not with the eyes’ reminds us of the ineffability of love, which is personified by a blindfolded Cupid shooting random arrows,” says Cindy. “And yet, love and connection are what we seek, so we keep falling and flying over and over again, like in a play or a dream. We enjoyed bringing that mischievousness into the song.”

Creating in East Gippsland / Gunaikurnai country, Dave and Cindy are joined by Mike Park’s smooth bass grooves and drum boss Dominic Britten bringing modern bossa nova vibes. All recorded and mixed with Stu Box at Snowy River Recording Studio and mastered by the master Andy Stewart at The Mill.

SQUID THE KID ‘Speed’ (Single)
One of South-East Melbourne’s hottest rising artists, Squid The Kid, today releases his new single, ‘SPEED’. Known for his unique blend of R&B and hip-hop, Squid The Kid pushes the boundaries further with this genre-bending sonic experience.

A fusion of jazz and drill music, ‘SPEED’ finds its own genre, which Squid stumbled upon during a late-night TikTok scroll. Describing the inspiration behind the track, he shares, “I was doing the standard TikTok scroll before bed, and I stumbled across a jazz band playing a drill song. I was amazed at how good it sounded and the fusion between the two genres. Because of the jazz elements I incorporate in my music also, I thought about giving this ‘Jazz Drill’ genre a try, sent the TikTok off to my band, and away we went.”

The track also features a nod to the popular streamer iShowSpeed, woven seamlessly into the hook. Squid explains, “Honestly, this song started off as a bit of a troll, so to include such a funny figure in pop culture right now in that was a no-brainer.”

‘SPEED’ follows on from previous releases ‘Late Night Antics’, ‘First Glance’ and ‘Getaway’, which saw Squid find the needle in the haystack with the electronic/hip-hop sound that fans of Kaytranada and Mild Minds would be very familiar with, adding in a voice distinctively similar to the likes of Anderson .Paak. The tracks picked up support from triple j, triple j unearthed and tastemakers such as Life Without Andy and Happy Mag.

2023 was a big year for Squid The Kid, playing Listen Out (Melbourne) as the triple j unearthed artist, SXSW Sydney, NYE On The Hill and supporting Phony Ppl. Set for an even bigger 2024, already having supported The Jungle Giants earlier this month, ‘SPEED’ is just a taste of what’s to come.

HAVE A GOOD DAY ‘Punch-Drunk in Love’ (Single)
Dreamy Aussie pop duo Have A Good Day are making a comeback with their newest single and companion music video, ‘Punch-Drunk In Love’ (out now). ‘Punch-Drunk in Love’ is an ode to the youthful kind of love that knocks someone off their feet, turbulent and exciting. Have A Good Day took off after their 2023 debut, with their first single ‘Somebody, Nobody’ drawing attention from all sides, attracting glowing reviews from the likes of Triple J, Pilerats, and MTV — it was even nominated for WAM Pop Song Of The Year.

The next release from “Live Nations – Ones to Watch 2023” Have a Good Day, is an uplifting, lyrically dense love song. The song is about the turbulence of love, even in the best relationships. “Punch-Drunk” which means “dazed” or “stupefied” describes the feeling associated with a whirlwind romance. Fans of artists like Chappell Roan and Muna are sure to love this 80’s inspired Pop song.

‘Punch-Drunk in Love’ is a subversive, wavey pop song, with chilled-out vocals and an 80’s synth flair. The lyrics straddle the line between sad and optimistic. This song is a youthful, woeful anthem that manages to be both bittersweet and upbeat.

The lyrics band together to tell a story of how it feels to love someone so much you lose yourself, nothing else in the world seems to matter (for better or for worse). It touches on the singer’s partner’s toxic family and how their love feels like a solace.  Released alongside it is a trippy, colourful music video that captures the wavey, unique nature of the song, matching up with the quirky, dreamlike vibe of the song, shot in beautiful, highly-saturated locations.

Get lost in love with Have A Good Day’s new single ‘Punch-Drunk in Love’ and companion music video, out now.

FAN GIRL ‘Little Pig’ (Single)
Building on the momentum from their recent single “the last one”, visceral alternative four-piece Fan Girl now reveal “little pig”, the second track from their forthcoming EP, real or staged which the band are excited to announce will drop Thursday 5 September via AWAL Recordings.

“little pig” embodies Fan Girl’s electrifying energy and knack for addictive riffs, marking a swirling, bombastic addition to real or staged. Packed with punchy tempo shifts, brash guitars and sprawling sampled strings, all layered beneath Noah Harris’ playful vocals, the track delves into the feeling of never being able to get enough, capturing the emotion of being both intoxicatingly surrounded and completely isolated.

Fan Girl on “little pig”: “The track came together almost instantly. Dropped in our laps, like an otherwise unwanted bag of potatoes. And we were so ready to make some chippies. With “little pig”, we just wanted to make something sprawling, wonky and grand. Samples, strings, phasers, double drums. The full buffet.

Once we had wrapped up tracking at our studio, we sent it off to Oli Barton-Wood (Nilüfer Yanya, Shame, Do Nothing) in London, who added his secret mixing potion to the bubbling cauldron, before being delivered to mastering engineer Felix Davis (Porridge Radio, Folly Group, The Murder Capital) for the final mastering garnish. Bon Appetit my friends.”

Fan Girl are set to embark on a run of headline dates throughout July in celebration of the new single, lighting up stages in Melbourne (twice!), Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney before heading to the Europe and UK in September / October. Head to for Australian tour details.

YOURS TRULY ‘California Sober’ (Single) ’Toxic’ (Album out August 16)
A soul-baring ode to being present in the moment, the brand new single California Sober out today from Sydney alternative trio Yours Truly is an empowered and engaging step closer to the group’s upcoming sophomore album, with TOXIC set for release on August 16 via UNFD.

Raw yet polished and loaded with forward-thinking pop punk hooks, California Sober finds Yours Truly’s Mikaila Delgado taking another star turn with power-laced confessional lyricism amplified alongside sharp drumwork and emphatic guitars. “California Sober was written during the same period as Sour,” the band shares. “We’d started working on Sour – we were getting nowhere with it. We had a bit of a breakdown; we were crying and talking about things.”
“We were mucking around, playing guitar, and Mikaila started singing about when you come over and your friends are stoned; just sitting there, not wanting to do much. It’s all good and fun, but you can’t enjoy other people’s company and think “I’m not good enough to hang out with”.”

“California Sober is the essence of trying to be present with your friends and loved ones. You don’t have to just put on this facade, this mask, and hide yourself away.”

From their 2020 album Self Care scooping up an ARIA nomination for Best Hard Rock or Heavy album, to boasting massive international performances, millions of streams and an ever-growing legion of global fans, Yours Truly remain transfixed as one of the most exciting young bands on the scene courtesy of their striking songwriting and dynamic live performances.

Never ones to stagnate or rest on their laurels, in 2022 Yours Truly catapulted their previous trademark pop punk style into a new stratosphere via their EP is this what i look like?. Armed with raw honesty and heightened influences, is this what i look like? explored moments of pop punk and introspection while also forging an amalgamation of organic yet unexpected new sounds, emerging as an irresistible exploration into heightened rock, emo and dance-ready sparkle woven into the Yours Truly DNA.

With their name now firmly cemented on a global scale, Yours Truly retain their versatility moving into their sophomore album chapter while also expanding beyond any stylistic confines or expectations. Produced by Ocean Grove’s Sam Bassal and mixed by Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox, Dayseeker), TOXIC ultimately nods to the fun pop-punk essence of earlier Yours Truly works while also demonstrating a boldness to step forward and explore heavy rhythms and, at times, darker direction. Via TOXIC, Yours Truly arrive at their most open, visceral and engaging material to date, with themes of anger, desperation, sadness and exhaustion forming alongside sanguine acceptance and self-awareness.

Spending 2023 touring Europe alongside You Me At Six, ticking off their first ever UK headline shows, supporting Against The Current in North America and touring Australia nationally with Neck Deep, Yours Truly kicked off 2024 with an appearance at THPS25 in Brisbane, celebrating 25 years of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater with Tony Hawk himself in attendance, as well as embarking on their entirely sold out Call My Name Tour across Australian in March. Yours Truly will also return overseas later this year, appearing at Reading and Leeds Festival in the UK this August alongside headliners Blink-182, Fred Again, Lana Del Rey, Liam Gallagher and many more.
