VALHALORE ‘The Storm’ (Single/Video)

April 11th will see Australia’s Symphonic Folk Metal collective VALHALORE release their much-awaited, second studio album Beyond The Stars via ROAR. In addition, the band will also reissue their notable debut, Voyage To Eternity (self-released in 2017), on vinyl and CD digipak ( the pre-sale is now available at https://valhalore.rpm.link/voyagePR). To pre-order your copy of VALHALORE’s new studio offering, Beyond The Stars  visit: https://valhalore.rpm.link/beyondpr

After VALHALORE have shared the previously-released singles, ‘Horizon’ and ‘Wayfinder’, today, the Brisbane-based act is unleashing a music video for their brand new single ‘The Storm’!
“Being a musician (or just a human, really) is a constant battle with self-doubt, depression, and inner demons,” says the band about the track. “This all became even more prominent during the pandemic when everything you’ve spent your life working towards seemed to disappear overnight. ‘The Storm’ asks the questions; will you give up and succumb to the inner darkness, or will you rise above?”

‘The Storm’ is out now on all digital streaming services at https://valhalore.rpm.link/stormPR

Founded by guitarist Anthony Willis and vocalist Lachlan Neate, VALHALORE swiftly became an unstoppable force in the Australian metal scene. Since their inaugural live performance in late 2015, the band’s unique blend of Melodic Death, Power, and Symphonic Metal, infused with folk influences, has resonated with audiences both domestically and abroad.

The year 2017 marked a pivotal moment for VALHALORE with the release of their debut album Voyage Into Eternity. The band celebrated this opus with a sold-out launch show in Brisbane and two successful national tours, “Voyage Across Australia” and “Viktoberfest”. Breaking international ground in 2018, VALHALORE  toured Japan alongside world-renowned acts Ensiferum, Trollfest, and Wind Rose. Upon their return, the band showcased their versatility with the release of the acoustic EP Solace & Solitude, and their 2019 single ‘Legacy’. Between releases, VALHALORE continued to conquer Australian stages, touring with Kamelot and Trollfest in 2018, and Kalmah in 2019. Two European tours, including an eagerly-anticipated appearance at “Wacken Open Air” 2020, were regrettably cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, undeterred by the global turmoil and prevailing uncertainties, VALHALORE spent the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021 recording their second studio album. In November 2022 VALHALORE took their live show to new heights, performing sold-out shows across Australia with UK’s Alestorm and with Arch Enemy later in February 2023. In February 2024, the band hit the road with Germany’s Blind Guardian and in support of HammerFall in early 2025 in Australia, while making final preparations for their hotly anticipated, sophomore album BEYOND THE STARS  to be released on April 11, 2025, by their new label partner ROAR. Pre-order the album now on:  https://valhalore.rpm.link/beyondpr

In support of their upcoming record release, VALHALORE has announced a series of Australian headlining tour dates, to kick off this May in Sydney! Known for their electrifying live performances, VALHALORE has firmly established themselves as a rising force in the Australian and global metal scenes. Prepare for a night of soaring melodies, crushing metal chaos, and an atmosphere of pure magic. Find all upcoming live dates listed below, tickets are now on sale at https://www.valhalore.com/

With each performance and release, VALHALORE continues to carve a unique path through the metal landscape, leaving an indelible mark on fans worldwide. The saga unfolds, and VALHALORE’s journey is poised to reach even greater heights in the years to come…

PETE MURRAY SHARES STIRRING NEW SINGLE + VIDEO I AM FIRE

ANNOUNCES MAMMOTH 55-DATE SOLO ACOUSTIC TOUR STARTING THIS MAY

With endless charm and stirring emotion, the brand new single I Am Fire released today from revered Australian singer-songwriter Pete Murray offers a poised yet powerful ode to everyday heroes, with the single also accompanied by the announcement of a mammoth 55-date run that will see Pete expansively tour the country in solo acoustic mode for the first time ever, commencing this May, supported nationally by Rachael Fahim and Brett Wood.

Pete’s largest tour ever and with most shows being all ages, the extensive solo acoustic tour will see him visit a stack of markets he’s never been to, rolling through every pocket of Australia in 2025, with a whopping 55 shows lined up across regional Australia as well as capital cities from May through to early September. Launching on Friday May 9 in Darwin, Pete will journey across the Northern Territory, Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, the ACT and Western Australia for these special intimate shows, with the mammoth run ultimately concluding on Sunday September 7 in the Blue Mountains.

Tickets for the solo acoustic tour go onsale to the general public on Friday 21 March at 10am local time from www.petemurray.com.  Fans can register for presale tickets now from www.petemurray.com, with presale kicking off on Tuesday 18 March from 10am local time.

Offering fans a second taste of a brand new body of work from Pete Murray, following on from his 2024 single Wouldn’t It Be Good, I Am Fire finds Pete channelling powerful emotives and tranquil arrangements with a nod to one of his favourite guitar sounds, as he elaborates, “I just bought a Gibson 1971 Classical guitar before I recorded I Am Fire and I knew this guitar had to be on this song. I love the classical guitar sound Rodriguez uses on his recordings, and it’s that same 60s/70s classical guitar sound that I was going for. The guitar created a real mood on the song that works well with the lyrics.”

“The song is inspired by normal people who stand up against regimes and who stand up for humanity and risk their own lives to save others,” Pete adds. “They are the real heroes of the world. I have used elements, emotions and feeling to describe these people. The courage they have is enormous and the love they give is forever. This song is also about normal heroes like mums and Dads who are always there for their kids.”

Once again stepping into the producer role for his own music, Pete also worked alongside a team of stellar creatives to bring I Am Fire to lustrous life, recording the track with Luke Palmer (Boo Seeka, Dead Letter Circus, Jacob Lee) on the Gold Coast, who also engineered and assisted with production. And with local musicians Ian Peres on bass and keys, Sarah James on backing vocals and Kate Derepas on cello, I Am Fire also brought in Pete’s long-time guitarist Brett Wood on electric guitar, with drums recorded via Nashville courtesy of drummer and producer Aaron Sterling (John Mayer, Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Lana Del Rey); and an incredibly powerful accompanying music video that reminds us all of very real historical moments of hope and bravery, as Pete explains, “I worked with David Blackley and Nick Wyatt on this video. Both have shot some of my live gigs before. I felt Dave and Nick would get this concept.  They are both very creative and gifted film makers. The video is footage of powerful moments in time where people are standing up for others, helping others, saving others and loving others. The concept of the video is to show the positivity of the human spirit in times of war and natural disasters.”

While Pete Murray needs little introduction as one of Australia’s most successful singer-songwriters, his upcoming tour starting this May will tick off a unique first after over two decades since he released his debut full length album The Game in 2001; namely, Pete Murray’s first ever solo tour on home soil, armed with an acoustic guitar and a stunning back catalogue of hits to create his setlists from. “I’ve never done a solo tour in this country before, so it’s been on the cards for a while,” shares Pete. “I’ve done it overseas and people love it – so it’s about time I did it in my own country. There will be some story telling of my songs, my life and career. The shows will be very intimate.”

Over the years, Pete Murray has sold over 1.2 million albums, amassed hundreds of millions of streams, released three ARIA chart-topping albums, and boasts 17 ARIA Award nominations amongst multiple other wins and nominations. Emerging with his debut full length album The Game in 2001, Murray’s breakout sophomore album Feeler in 2003 cemented his status as one of the all-time greats. With ongoing hits along the way, including Better Days, Feeler, Opportunity and So Beautiful, Murray’s stirring and enduring blend of positivity with acoustic, rock and folk elements has flourished across decades, including via his most recent full length album Camacho in 2017. Now dominantly splitting his time in the studio and spending time with his family, Murray has also cultivated a stalwart reputation for his live show, from his own headline shows with his band at home and abroad, as well as performances with the likes of Missy Higgins, Icehouse, Rob Thomas and James Blunt to name a mere few.

And in 2025, with a number of new and familiar places on the horizon with his giant Australian run, and brand new music in the form of I Am Fire, it seems the best continues to be yet to come for the prolific Pete Murray, as he concludes, “I feel really good about releasing this song. It’s one of my favourite songs off the new body of work I have just recorded. I feel this song is very appropriate for the times we live in now. And I’m really looking forward to getting out there and letting people see how these songs were written on acoustic guitar and telling them stories of my life journey so far.”

Tickets for Pete Murray’s solo tour go onsale to the general public on Friday 21 March at 10am local time from www.petemurray.com.

DEVAURA “Meet Your Maker’ (Single)

‘MEET YOUR MAKER’ is the new single out today from rising star DEVAURA. The track joins recent release ‘VERTIGO’ on her debut EP, Vol 1. Learning in Public, which will be out on 3 April.

Says DEVAURA on the track: “I rebuke the spirit of Tall poppy syndrome. I have a kudraaazy solid crew around me so all that weird energy will get clocked. Try Jesus before you try me”
‘MEET YOUR MAKER’ is a fun, sassy, and funky track that’s as bouncy as it is bold. The song winks at those who once rebelled against the system, only to become part of it, and invites listeners to shrug off pretension and embrace genuine authenticity. With its infectious energy and playful spirit, ‘MEET YOUR MAKER’ encourages you to step into your power and own your journey with style and swagger.
DEVAURA burst onto the scene in 2023, captivating audiences with her powerful performances and charismatic lyricism. Her recent accolades include being awarded the Triple J Unearthed Laneway Competition 2025 as well as receiving the 2024 Acclaim Magazine x PUMA Wildcard Award. She has also won the 2024 FBi SMAC Awards for Best Live Act & Best Emerging Act, as well as the Justin Cosby Best Emerging Act at SXSW Sydney 2024 for delivering standout performances.
She recently played at Party in the Paddock (on the same day as Laneway Sydney) and WOMAD in Adelaide. Coming up will be a set at Gembrook’s queer music festival Gaytimes, her EP launch on 3 April at The Vanguard, Sydney, and Vivid Sydney. DEVAURA’s live performances are nothing short of mesmerising, packing out crowds with her live band, her set is a seamless transition between beats, punk-influenced guitar and drums, and powerful vocals, combined with her magnetic stage presence.
Aotearoa born and now based on Dharug Lands, DEVAURA draws inspiration for her work from her own resilience. As a formally houseless, first-generation immigrant, and openly queer artist, she exclaims that “discovering music [helped her] to find her voice.” Inspired by the likes of Jessica Mauboy, Katy Perry, Donna Summer, Nicki Minaj and Ray BLK her love of community, storytelling, and authentic expression comes across loud and clear in her music. Whether she’s rapping or singing — her passion, dedication, and ability to capture the beautifully absurd human experience through her artistry; knows no limit.

Upcoming live shows:
21-23 March – Gaytimes Festival, VIC
3 April – The Vanguard, Sydney
12 June – Vivid LIVE, Sydney

ADELAIDE BEER & BBQ FESTIVAL IS THROWING A HUGE 10TH BIRTHDAY PARTY THIS JUNE, HEADLINED BY TIM FINN, WOLFMOTHER & THE CHATS.

South Australia’s biggest independent festival, Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival, is marking 10 years of beers with a new date on the King’s Birthday Long Weekend (June 6–8, 2025) and A CALL TO ARMS for punters to show up, buy a beer, and support the independently run festival and greater brewing industry. With festivals facing tough times and independent breweries needing all the backing they can get; Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival (ABBF) is throwing a massive birthday party to help ensure the next decade of beers keeps flowing. General Admission Entertainment, the independent music, events, and venues powerhouse behind the festival, is urging everyone to rally behind this award-winning, homegrown South Australian event, as its survival depends on those who turn up.

Crowned ‘Best Major Music Festival’ at the 2024 South Australian Music Awards,  ABBF 2025 is set to be the biggest yet—expanding to five huge sessions over three days and nights, with a brand-new Sunday ‘Legends’ night of live action before punters can take the public holiday Monday to recover.

With a career spanning nearly two decades and a presence deeply embedded in global pop culture, Andrew Stockdale’s powerhouse band is the perfect fit for the festival’s beer-loving crowd.

Meanwhile, The Chats, Australia’s favourite high-energy pub-punk trio, return from relentless international touring for their first Adelaide show in years. Hot off the heels of their 2022 album Get Fucked, and with fresh material brewing for their much-anticipated third record, their set promises to be a raucous celebration of all things loud, fast, and fun.

For the new Sunday night ‘Legends’ moment, none other than Tim Finn (NZ) will close out the 10th birthday festivities. The ARIA Hall of Famer and songwriter behind some of the greatest pop tracks in history (see: Split Enz, Crowded House, and Finn Brothers) makes his long-awaited return to Adelaide after missing his last national tour—this time, he’s not skipping SA.

GIVE PEACE A CHANCE – AUSSIE ROCK ARTISTS JOIN TO CELEBRATE THE WORDS AND MUSIC OF JOHN LENNON

To celebrate the words and music of John Lennon and to draw attention to the need for peace in our time, we’ve gathered some of Australia’s most loved musicians to perform some of Lennon’s biggest hits from his solo career and The Beatles.

This July five electrifying Australian singer-songwriters — Adalita (Magic Dirt), Diesel, Steve Kilbey (the church), Isabella Manfredi (The Preatures) and Kevin Mitchell (Jebediah/Bob Evans) — join forces to perform the songs that defined a generation.

Set in Australia’s most prestigious venues – Brisbane’s QPAC Concert Hall (3 July), Hamer Hall (5 July), Sydney Opera House (6 July) and Adelaide Festival Theatre (12 July) – this is more than a tribute. It’s a celebration of Lennon the songwriter, the radical, the dreamer.

Backed by an all-star band lead by Ashley Naylor (Even/the church/Paul Kelly), Give Peace a Chance will bring new energy and reverence to Lennon’s most iconic works, from the raw power of Instant Karma! to the intimate heartbreak of Jealous Guy.

By the time John Lennon wrote Imagine, he had already reshaped popular music forever. A fearless creative force, he moved from the raw rock & roll of Twist and Shout to the psychedelic dreamscapes of Strawberry Fields Forever and the revolutionary grit of Come Together. His music was more than melody—it was protest, poetry, and a call to something bigger.

It almost feels like yesterday that the John Lennon song Give Peace a Chance, released on 4 July 1969, impacted on the world as a plea for us to come together in forgiveness, mutual respect and understanding.

55 years on and the world remains in a fragile place, facing many challenges that continue to shape our reality. As we come together to celebrate the enduring words and music of John Lennon we also raise our voices in protest and objection to the struggles that still affect so many parts of our world in 2025. Our intention is to make a statement, one that acknowledges the urgency of change while celebrating the powerful legacy of Lennon’s message of peace and hope.

DAVID GRAY ANNOUNCES PAST & PRESENT AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Frontier Touring and Chugg Entertainment are thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of multi-platinum, multi-BRIT, and GRAMMY-nominated British singer-songwriter David Gray, who brings his Past & Present World Tour to audiences this November, performing in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

Gray’s return follows the January 2025 release of his latest critically acclaimed and 13th studio album, Dear Life. Independently released through his own label, Laugh A Minute Records, in partnership with Secretly Distribution, Dear Life reunites Gray with producer Ben de Vries on what may be the deepest, strangest, loveliest album this pioneering British singer-songwriter has ever delivered. While the album’s foundations were first laid in 2019, production was delayed due to COVID and the rescheduling of Gray’s massive White Ladder Anniversary Tour, which saw him perform to sold-out arenas across Australia in 2022.

Fans can expect an unforgettable live experience this November, as Gray brings his newest album to the stage for the very first time while also diving deep into his rich catalogue – a magical, two hour live show filled with beloved classics such as ‘My Oh My’, ‘Babylon’, ‘Please Forgive Me’, ‘Sail Away’ and many more.

Gray is a multi-million selling arena artist who made one of the bestselling British albums of the 21st century, the blockbuster White Ladder, which pushed his intense and passionate blend of acoustics and electronica into the pop spotlight. Whilst huge stars from Adele to Hozier to Ed Sheeran have acknowledged Gray’s profound impact and influence, Gray himself has continued to plough his own furrow, relentlessly seeking out a purity of expression. Dear Life is a big statement, the work of a driven man obsessively focused on a personal artistic journey.

Recorded in a makeshift Norfolk studio and years in the making, Dear Life is an album of emotional crisis and resolution, mortality and faith, reality and illusion, love and heartbreak, magic, science, loss and acceptance – as heard in singles ‘Plus & Minus’, ‘After The Harvest’, ‘Singing for the Pharaoh’, and ‘Fighting Talk’.

Watch: David Gray – Plus & Minus (feat. Talia Rae)

Kicking off his 2025 world tour with a 22-date North American leg, Gray will perform across the UK, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark before arriving in Australia. The Past & Present Tour will begin at Perth’s Riverside Theatre on Tuesday 4 November, before heading to Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre on Friday 7 November. Melbourne’s Palais Theatre will host the show on Sunday 9 November, followed by Sydney’s State Theatre on Wednesday 12 November. The tour will conclude at QPAC Concert Hall in Brisbane on Saturday 15 November.

Frontier Members can access exclusive presale tickets from Wednesday 19 March (12pm local time) via frontiertouring.com/davidgray. General tickets will then go on sale Thursday 20 March (2pm local time).

It’s a tale as old as capitalism – living week to week, watching your hard earned cash flow up into the ivory tower when the rent is due and the bills need to be paid. With its charged-up riff and galvanizing chorus, when the debt starts piling up chuck on the song and shout it with your whole chest.

“This song is for everyone who has ever been stiffed, ripped off, bullshitted or flat out not received what they were promised. To the guilty parties (see; thief) – F**k You, Pay Me.” – Cal Kramer (vocals)

Exploding into the spotlight at the end of 2023 after being featured on every music lover’s favourite YouTube series, Justin Hawkins Rides Again, the rest of the world is starting to see what Australia has known for quite some time – The Southern River Band are the real deal.

Hailing from Thornlie in Western Australia (Where? Exactly), SRB has spent a decade putting in the hard yards and earning their reputation the old-fashioned way: by taking their full-throttle live show anywhere with a stage and a bar. One of those ‘you-just-have-to-see-them-live’ kinda bands, SRB’s relentless touring schedule has seen them sell out multiple national runs, play with Aussie legends Cold Chisel and Rose Tattoo, as well as support modern-day rock icons like The Darkness and Eagles Of Death Metal.

In 2024, SRB kicked it up a gear with the release of their high-octane fourth record, D.I.Y, that not only landed at #6 on the Aus ARIA Chart, but the vinyl needed to be repressed before it was even released. The record’s breakout six-minute epic “Stan Qualen” thrust the band on the global stage, charting in 23 countries and taking them on their first international tour. The demand for SRB was so insatiable their first UK show sold out in just four days, leading to a venue upgrade more than double the size which, you guessed it, sold out – as did most of the tour. The band has also found a home on the European festival stages, leaving thousands gobsmacked at The Great Escape, Vestrock, Sweden Rock Festival, Rock Wrechter and Down The Rabbit Hole, and they will return in 2025 to dominate Download, Hellfest and Resurrection festivals.

Before the band duck off back to Europe, they’ll take their new single out for a spin on an Australian headline tour – hitting capital cities in May. Tickets on sale March 13 via thesouthernriverband.com.

As Justin Hawkins of The Darkness said, “Now this is a proper f***ing rock band”. But hey, don’t take our word for it, find out for yourself.

TAMARA & THE DREAMS ’Successful Bisexual’ (Single)

Melbourne-based indie-pop gem Tamara & the Dreams returns with her new single, ‘Successful Bisexual’. Written while backpacking across the Greek Islands, the long-awaited track, the band’s first since 2022, is a frantic, heart-on-sleeve anthem about chasing experience, embracing desire, and living every moment to the fullest.

With Tamara’s signature blend of wit and sincerity, the single captures the magic of self-discovery: the exhilarating journey of becoming who you truly are. “I wrote the song ‘Successful Bisexual’ into my voice memo app on a ferry while backpacking in the Greek Islands,” Tamara explains. “After so many years of not feeling comfortable in my skin I finally felt ‘me’ — I finally felt confident, hot, independent — like I had ‘come of age’.”

While much of the track soars with freedom and possibility, a thread of relentless anxiety weaves through its lyrics, capturing the universal fear that life may slip away before you’ve achieved everything you intended to do. “I wanted to capture that feeling of running out of time, being afraid of the end of youth, and this imagined age when you have to ‘grow up’ and stop living life to the fullest,” says Tamara. “The lyrics ‘age another year’ are repeated, and I tried to capture the urgency and finiteness of life, how scary growing up is, but also how time is our greatest gift.”

The fleeting nature of time became painfully real for Tamara, when her life was upended just before the single’s original release in 2024. While hitchhiking through Europe, she received the devastating news that her mum had died. “Just as I was about to release the song, I got the call that my mum, my best friend in the world, suddenly died out of nowhere from a brain aneurysm,” she recalls.

After such a profound loss, the song’s central theme has taken on a new significance: “Now I have this song about being scared of aging and wanting to live life to the fullest, that’s taken on new meaning because you truly never know what’s around the corner”, Tamara explains. “I’m no longer scared of aging, now I understand getting old is a privilege that not everyone gets, and I want to make the most out of every day I get to spend living.

Delivered with unwavering honesty, an entire life philosophy is distilled into ‘Successful Bisexual’. It’s a postcard from a world where reckless abandon, freedom, and joy collide with the ever-present passage of time. As Tamara says — and lives by: “The antidote to grief is a lust for life.”

CARI CARI ‘One More Trip Around The Sun’ (Album)

Austrian indie sensation Cari Cari aren’t just a band; they’re world-builders, sonic adventurers, and relentless dreamers. The duo—Stephanie Widmer and Alexander Köck —have wandered through London, Hamburg, and Madrid, weaving their experiences into a sound that’s as raw as it is cinematic.

Cari Cari has cultivated a sonic universe entirely their own and today they release their third studio album One More Trip Around The Sun out via Civilians.

LISTEN TO ONE MORE TRIP AROUND THE SUN ALBUM HERE

The album is a deep dive into love, childhood, the meaning of home, and the unstoppable march of time. It captures both the anxieties of modern life and the simple joy of creating for the sake of creation.

Among the album’s most poignant moments is ‘Nana’, a haunting tale of resilience. Today the duo share the have shared the accompanying video.

WATCH VIDEO FOR ‘NANA’ HERE

The song follows a couple forced to flee their homeland after a regime change, embarking on a perilous journey across the desert in search of safety. The night-drive imagery and the wistful refrain, “nana nana nana,” weave together fear, hope, and nostalgia—a bittersweet reflection of all that’s been lost and the unrelenting determination to start anew. In a time when stories of displacement are more relevant than ever, ‘Nana’ is a powerful tribute to the strength of those who refuse to give up.

From music and visuals to stage design and artwork, everything they create is a meticulous, hands-on labor of love—an ethos that has earned them a fiercely devoted following.

Now, Cari Cari embarks on a bold new chapter with One More Trip Around The Sun. More than just an album, it’s an odyssey—an exploration of time, identity, and the things that truly matter.

“It’s a journey through our own universe, a reflection of the world as it feels in this moment,” says Widmer. Lush, immersive, and fiercely independent, the record is a testament to staying true to one’s vision, resisting fleeting trends, and embracing authenticity.

True to form, Cari Cari’s signature sound remains untouched by passing trends. The hypnotic blend of jaw harp, didgeridoo, and atmospheric guitars has only grown richer and more layered. Each track unfolds like a cinematic vignette, pulling listeners into a world both nostalgic and forward-looking.

Recorded in their self-built studio, the album radiates the unmistakable Cari Cari sound: earthy, raw, and intricate. Each track builds on their rich sonic legacy, offering timeless soundscapes that reject superficial trends and celebrate depth and originality.

Their third album is a defiant statement: a no to major labels, soulless industry structures, and artistic compromise. But more importantly, it’s a yes—to their vision, to music that matters, and to the people who make it all worthwhile. That’s why their family and friends grace the album cover—because, at its core, this record is about them.

With over 2,000,000 monthly Spotify streams and extensive airplay on influential stations such as BBC Radio 1, KCRW, and France Inter, Cari Cari has solidified their position as a powerhouse in the indie music scene. Their accolades include a #3 debut on the Austrian charts with their 2022 album Welcome to KooKoo Island and selling over 15,000 tickets during their last European tour. They’ve graced the stages of renowned festivals like Primavera Sound, Sziget, and Rock am Ring/Rock im Park and supported die ärzte in front of 60,000 fans at Tempelhofer Feld.

With their third album, Cari Cari reaffirms their dedication to creating music that is both authentic and deeply personal. This new album encapsulates years of exploration, self-discovery, and artistic growth. Bold, immersive, and brimming with ambition, One More Trip Around The Sun invites listeners to explore uncharted territories of sound and imagination, cementing Cari Cari’s place as one of the most innovative and captivating acts of their generation.

HAIM “Relationships” (Single)

Los Angeles rock band HAIM today makes a powerful return with brand new single and video “Relationships,” out now on Polydor Records.  “What’s all this talk about relationships?” is among the questions explored by the sister trio of Este, Danielle and Alana Haim who navigate the whirlwind of unexplainable feelings brought on by the evolution of relationships.  The single premiered earlier today as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record and is the first new music from the band’s highly anticipated and not yet announced fourth studio album.  “Relationships,” which features the band’s familiar mix of genres, offers a contrast to the forthcoming album’s Rock sound and was produced by Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim.  The video stars HAIM with actor Drew Starkey and was directed by Camille Summers-Valli.

Listen here

In 2021 Haim’s third album, ‘Women In Music Pt. III’ entered at #1 on the UK Album chart, marking the second time the band has reached this prestigious achievement.  That same year, HAIM took home their first BRIT Award for International Group.  HAIM made history as the first all-female rock group to be nominated for the GRAMMY Album of The Year with ‘Women In Music Pt. III.’  The album was met with an overwhelming amount of critical acclaim, debuted #1 on the U.S. Album Sales chart, as well as the Rock and Alternative charts.  Renowned for their high energy live performances, HAIM have toured the world playing headline shows and festival stages including Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and more.  The band are set to perform at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 27, as well as Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona on June 6 and Portugal on June 14.

ATOMIC: The Songs of Blondie & Black Market Clash – A Night of Rock ‘n’ Roll History

On Friday, 28 March, the Kindred Bandroom will host Atomic: The Songs of Blondie and Black Market Clash, a double-bill event celebrating the music of two of the most influential bands of the late 20th century. Featuring musicians with extensive experience in Australia’s live music scene, the performances will offer a detailed and dynamic interpretation of Blondie and The Clash’s work.

Both bands recreate the sounds of the original recordings with attention to detail, while also delivering a raw and energetic live performance. The result is a show that highlights not only the precision of the studio albums but also the urgency and spontaneity of the music in a live setting.

A Story of Friendship and Musical Passion: The Origins of Atomic
At the heart of Atomic is the collaboration between Anthea Palmer and Victor Stranges, two musicians with deep roots in Melbourne’s rock scene. Stranges, originally a drummer in the underground punk band Drunk ‘n’ Disorderly during the 1980s, had focused mainly on studio work and had not played drums publicly on a regular basis for over 35 years. When the idea of a Blondie homage arose, he fully committed to the role, drawing from his admiration for Clem Burke, Blondie’s renowned drummer.

Palmer, originally from Adelaide, performed in Drama Queen with Shane Reilly before relocating to Melbourne. Drama Queen played extensively and released two EPs. Reilly went on to perform with Paul Kelly and Beck, while Palmer moved into the business side of music, founding venues such as The Chandelier Room in Melbourne and Jimmy Hornet in Zhongshan (China) and Melbourne. As the owner and editor of Jimmy Hornet Magazine, she has remained active in the music scene and now returns to the stage as a lead vocalist.

The band has extensive experience, with bassist Stu Thomas having performed in a variety of bands since 1979. He gained international attention in 1995 when he joined Kim Salmon & The Surrealists and has since been a key collaborator with Salmon in multiple projects, touring Australia, Europe, and the USA.

Thomas also toured Europe with Dave Graney & The MistLY, supporting Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on the Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! tour in 2008, and returned for a headline tour in 2016 with Scottish guitarist Malcolm Ross.

Rounding out the Atomic lineup are Mike Dupp (The Methinks, The Futurists) and Garry Allen (Crossbones Boogie), ensuring an energetic and stylistically faithful performance of Blondie’s catalogue.

Victor Stranges: A Life in Music
Victor Stranges’ career spans several decades as a musician, songwriter, and performer. After his early years as a drummer in the punk scene, he moved to guitar and vocals, fronting his own band Caravan in the 1990s. The band gained a following, setting the stage for his solo work. His second independent album, Hello Me To You, was signed to the US label Not Lame Records, where it gained traction in the global power pop community. Stranges has been praised for his melodic songwriting and sharp lyrical style, drawing strong influences from Elvis Costello and other post-punk artists, cementing his place in the independent music scene…

In addition to his original music, Stranges has regularly performed The Songs of Elvis Costello, a tribute to one of his biggest musical influences. His ability to capture the distinct style and energy of Costello’s work has further established him as a passionate and skilled interpreter of classic songwriting.

With a career spanning decades, Stranges continues to channel his passion for classic rock and punk into live performances, songwriting, and music production. His involvement in Atomic and Black Market Clash is a natural extension of his lifelong appreciation for Blondie and The Clash.

Black Market Clash: A Respectful Nod to The Clash’s Legacy
Much like Blondie’s journey from New York punk clubs to global success, The Clash developed from a raw punk band into a group that incorporated reggae, dub, and rockabilly into its sound. Black Market Clash presents a live exploration of that progression, performing material from the band’s early singles such as White Riot and Safe European Home through to their later hits like Should I Stay Or Should I Go?.

Victor Stranges and Garry Allen share vocal and guitar duties, mirroring the dynamic between Joe Strummer and Mick Jones. Stu Thomas provides a solid rhythmic foundation on bass, delivering lead vocals on The Guns of Brixton and London Calling. Mike Dupp adds texture with organ and keys, recreating the rich sonic layers found in The Clash’s later work.

Drummer Gian Cannizzaro, the youngest member of the group, channels the versatility of Topper Headon, moving seamlessly between punk aggression, reggae grooves, and jazz-infused rhythms.

Foxes in the Snow was recorded in New York City at the famed Electric Lady Studios in October, 2024. Recorded entirely on the same all-mahogany 1940 Martin 0-17 acoustic guitar, and in the span of just five days, the album captures an artist at the peak of their powers; the virtuosic guitar playing and commanding vocal delivery on this collection is some of the most impressive of an already remarkable recording career. ANOUSHA VICTOIRE “GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM” (Single)

Still playing on the themes of memory, childhood and belonging that permeate her recent work, on this new track folk singer -songwriter Anousha Victoire uses a childhood memory to explore the notion of where we come from as a nation of migrants and displaced people, and what it means to live and grow up somewhere that isn’t where your ancestors lived.

A co-write with country singer-songwriter Kelly Cork, and featuring Jamie Pollock on violin, this track sits comfortably across both genres as a timely gentle folk-country inspired exploration of what it means to come from somewhere, and how we carry our ancestors wherever we walk.

ABOUT ANOUSHA VICTOIRE [Ah-noo-sha Viktwaah]
Anousha Victoire is a weaver of everyday dreams, stitching together folk/world influenced melodies with bell-over-water clarity of vocal tone. The introspective singer-songwriter blends delicate ideas with a heart-aching immediacy. Her trademark fingerpicking folk guitar style and haunting vocal melodies in French and English are complemented by soaring, emotive strings and vocal harmonies, blending into folk storytelling songs that sound like timeless classics.

Once they discover her, her fans prove tenacious, if not downright possessive. After a surprise win of her first ABC Music Award (Folk) for one of the very first songs she wrote, she went on to build a loyal local following, as early songs gained indie and ABC radio airplay. Festival credits over the years include the National Folk Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Cresfest, Northern Beaches Music Festival, St Albans Folk Festival, Planet Dungog, Sessionfest, Woodford’s Women Out Front stage, and Wollombi Festival. She has shared the stage with Judy Small, We Mavericks, Mic Conway, Rebecca Barnard, Isabel Rumble, Melanie Horsnell, Gleny Rae Virus, Felicity Dowd, Emmy Ryan, Jhana Allan, Abby Dobson, The Bluehouse, Ember Swift and Penelope Swales.

Anousha’s live performance has been described as combining the soaring vocal range of Kate Bush, the melodic pop folk feels of Beth Orton, the fearless feminist fire of Ani Difranco, and the haunting roots melodies of Gillian Welch. Add the dynamism and sparkle of Jamie Pollock’s dazzling violin and harmonies and the show takes flight.

Initial EP releases back in early 2000’s won recognition, with another ABC Music Award (World Music) for anti-war song Her Love Will Not Return, and airplay of her song on the plight of the last asylum seeker on Nauru with Last Man Standing. She returned to the studio with 2020 full-length album Precious Things, and the single Rather Be Your Lover (Than Your Wife) featuring guest bluegrass musicians Gleny Rae and Robbie Long, received airplay on Double J and independent radio. In 2023 she launched EP Embers of the Night produced by Gareth Hudson, with widespread acclaim and airplay on independent radio across Australia and in the UK. Single Mole Creek debuted at #4 on the AMRAP regional charts.

CRASH & THE CRAPENTERS ‘Species Du Faeces’ (EP)

Move over teen angst, and welcome to the stage the middle-aged rage of Crash & The Crapenters’ new EP ‘Species Du Faeces’, coming out swinging.

This eagerly-awaited EP comes after the tastes provided in single releases ‘Depression’ and ‘All Geared Up’, both of which garnered attention from alternative media outlets among Heavy Mag, Amnplify, AAA Backstage, ThePunkSite, Scenestr, Backseat Mafia and more.

Crash & The Crapenters have become well known since their 2016 debut for their signature immature but experienced psychedelic rock that touches on themes of mental health, addiction, and burnout, and their latest EP is a showcase of their sound. This four-track journey is packed with homages to their musical influences, the first of which is the album name, a reference to Species Deceases, the 1985 Midnight Oil EP.

The first track on the EP is the previously released ‘All Geared Up’– this 4-act bender explores the rise and fall of a high through the lens of high-energy vocals and guitar riffs, scrutinising Australia’s culture of addiction. The track ends in the come-down of addiction, leading into ‘Depression (Smells Like Middle Aged Spirit)’, an ode to garage grunge this song takes subtle sampling from one of the most well-known songs of all time, with that same-but-different feeling tying right in to the theme of the song: how easy it can be to get trapped in a cycle and lose yourself to it, and how many people in the world feel that way.

Track 3,  ‘The Devil’s In The Detail’ is an industrial beat and grim vocals, with lyrics touching on the slog of life, how everyone seems to get so wrapped up in the black hole of their own lives that they can’t empathise with the other people feeling like they do.

The album ends on an upbeat: ‘Off The Bricks’ is a more energetic song about trying to realign yourself and put in the work to ‘be better’. It tilts between major and minor, showcasing that this path has ups and downs but is definitely worth following.

Though the themes of this album are heavy, frontman Chris Carpenter wants listeners to walk away hopeful! Instead of staying down, he says that  ‘Species Du Faeces’ is about:

“Looking deep within yourself and realising the part you yourself play in contributing to your own misery, and rather than being all “misery loves company” and dragging other people down to build yourself up, improve yourself in the areas you need to, and make a positive contribution to the world around you!”
