WINTERBOURNE ANNOUNCE NATIONAL ALBUM TOUR

After years spent bouncing around ideas for new material and working across a handful of different studios, Central Coast duo Winterbourne release their stellar second album, Act Of Disappearing and announce their National Album Tour.

Beginning in Perth on Friday March 8th at the Rosemount Hotel, Winterbourne will bring their immersive performance style to major cities, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide for the fittingly dubbed Act Of Disappearing Tour. Tickets to these upcoming dates are on sale now

Described as feeling “separate” yet “perfectly familiar” when compared to their previous work, Act Of Disappearing is as captivating as it is reflective, and wholly indicative of the road Winterbourne find themselves on. With their usual folky sound punctuated by the addition of synths and “shiny pop elements”, and their lyrical themes being more left-field than previous, Act Of Disappearing is the sound of Winterbourne eagerly breaking new ground, but never once forgetting their roots.

No more is this felt than on tracks such as ‘A Very Excellent Day’, which stays true to their desire to turn heads, pairing a positive and overwhelmingly joyful instrumental with lyrics which hide a darker meaning.

The power of this track, and the enormously enthralling presence of Winterbourne is also on display in a newly released live video.

The new video captures the pair performing ‘A Very Excellent Day’ and shows their force as a live unit when on stage and at home in their element.

Having first burst onto the scene a decade ago, Winterbourne – comprising James Draper and Jordan Brady – honed their craft as buskers along Australia’s east coast, with their folky compositions being immortalised on a series of homemade EPs. In 2019, the pair released their debut album, Echo Of Youth, but even as it was shared with the world, James and Jordan were already looking ahead to their next project.

The pair decided to self-produce their next album, sharing demos between trusted friends, producers, and laptops since 2018, recording the new batch of songs across their home studio, Damien Gerard Studios, and The Grove Studios over the space of two years. Leaning on friend and mixing engineer Jackson Barclay for tones, mixes and advice where needed, the collection of demos were soon brought to life into a record that they never thought they would write, yet one which has been on the horizon for some time.
