World leading cymbal maker Zildjian honoured its 400th anniversary with an all-star celebratory concert on September 20th, 2023. The company, which first began making cymbals in 1623, hosted an unforgettable experience at Roadrunner in Boston and featured many artists that have played with the biggest names in music.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Zildjian’s milestone anniversary in our hometown with our closest family and friends.” said Zildjian Executive Chair, President, and 14th generation owner Craigie Zildjian. “This is a special opportunity to reflect not only on our history, but to share the excitement of what lies ahead.”

Emceed by comedian, actor, producer, and drummer Fred Armisen,  eight drumming legends were inducted on the night into the Zildjian Hall of Fame: Eddie Bayers, Terri Lyne Carrington, Dennis Chambers, Sheila E., Peter Erskine, Omar Hakim, Steve Smith, and Ringo Starr

Additionally the night presented performances from some the world’s greatest drummers including Aaron Spears, Ash Soan, Josh Dun and many more. A charity auction also raised money for MusiCares.

“This is also an incredible opportunity to share music with those who matter most – our employees, artists, and fans.”  said Zildjian CEO John Stephans.

However the celebrations don’t stop there. Across the Atlantic, Zildjian will present a  UK celebration at the Clapham Grand in London on 15 October headlined by Dennis Chambers, one of the most electrifying jazz drummers of the past four decades.

The 400th Anniversary Concert at the historic Clapham Grand on 15 October 2023 will feature Chambers, King Crimson’s Gavin Harrison, bandleader and former Paul Weller drum great Steve White, leading session drummers Karl Brazil and Ash Soan, and rock drummers Ben Thatcher (Royal Blood) and Craig Reynolds (Stray From The Path) who will all perform with a house band.
