Bootleg Rascal’s set for Great Southern Nights at The Lansdowne was a masterclass in genre-blending and good vibes. The duo’s signature mix of hip hop, reggae, indie-rock, and electronica kept the crowd moving, with classic hits and fresh tracks alike sending the packed room into a frenzy. Their laidback yet infectious energy made the intimate venue feel like a block party, showcasing why they’ve built such a loyal following over the past decade. Bootleg Rascal’s ability to seamlessly shift between grooves and moods proves they’re still at the top of their game—a highlight of the festival and a reminder of the enduring power of live music done right.
Warming up the night, Dante Knows delivered a smooth and soulful set that set the perfect tone. His laidback flow and clever lyricism drew the early crowd in, building anticipation and complementing Bootleg Rascal’s eclectic style. Together, the acts made for a night that celebrated the diversity and vibrancy of Australia’s live music scene. Everyone was left sweaty with their hearts pumping and in a damn good mood when they went home that night.
