The Beths delivered a great high-energy set for Great Southern Nights at the Crow Bar. From the first jangly chords, Liz Stokes’ clear, emotive vocals soared above the band’s punchy riffs and intricate harmonies, instantly drawing the crowd into their world of bittersweet hooks and infectious melodies. The quartet’s chemistry was palpable, with playful banter and their Kiwi humour.
The setlist spanned fan favourites like “Silence is Golden,” “Jump Rope Gazers,” and “Expert in a Dying Field,” each met with enthusiastic singalongs and dancing from the packed room. The band’s ability to blend upbeat, sun-soaked sounds with introspective, sometimes melancholic lyrics shone through, making every song feel both personal and universal. Great night – great venue – and clearly packed with true fans!
