Great Southern Nights is a celebration of live music, delivering more than 300 gigs in entertainment precincts across New South Wales, including Inner and Western Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Central Coast, Byron Bay, Broken Hill, Orange, Tamworth and Tilba, reinforcing NSW’s position as a premier destination for cultural vibrancy and world-class live entertainment.
On Saturday night it was Mornington Peninsula-based artist Holly Hebe’s turn to light up Sydney with an exhilarating performance at The Loft. Tania Graham-Brown was there for Australian Musician to capture the excitement of the event
“Holly Hebe and Friends brought magic to The Loft on Broadway over the weekend with an intimate gig that felt more like a gathering of old friends than a concert. The small venue, cozy and dimly lit, set the perfect vibe for a night of heartfelt music that left everyone buzzing.
Opening the show was Gordon’s Grandson, who warmed up the crowd with his soulful tunes and chilled-out energy. Harry’s set was packed with emotion, and his smooth vocals had the audience hooked from the start. It was the perfect lead-in to the main act.
When Holly Hebe hit the stage her dreamy voice and piano skills were mesmerising, and her connection with the audience made it feel like she was singing directly to each person in the room. She played a mix of her well-loved songs, some covers and some new ones, but the real magic happened when she brought her friends up to join her. Their harmonies were stunning, and you could tell they were having just as much fun as the crowd was.
The whole night felt intimate and real—no big flashy production, just pure talent and good vibes. If you ever get the chance to catch Holly live, don’t miss it—she’s something special.” – Tania Graham-Brown (@taniagb_)
