Jackson Guitars American Series campaign artist, Instagram shredder, educator and composer Alyssa Day is a musician on the move, building a substantial audience on social media with her informative and impressive shred lesson videos. After a stint in metal band Mindscar, the band co-formed by Trivium’s Matt Heafy, Alyssa is soon stepping out on her own, with the release of her own debut EP of instrumental music.
Australian Musician editor Greg Phillips recently caught up with Alyssa Day on a zoom call to chat about her career and the new Jackson American Series Soloist ™ SL3.
Today Alyssa Day also releases her debut single and music video “Dread & Dream”
Today, Jackson marks a long-awaited homecoming with the launch of the American Series SoloistTM SL3, a high-performance American-made flagship electric guitar, crafted for speed and produced for the heaviest and fastest of players.
Born in Southern California in 1980, Jackson was the first brand to embrace the needs of hard rock and metal virtuosos by providing instruments with feature sets that catered to high velocity playing. Jackson has continued to revolutionise its high-performance craft over the last 40 years, while dominating the metal landscape as the industry’s leading shred machines. The all-new Jackson American Series is the next chapter in Jackson’s storied legacy, marking the first made-in-Corona flagship product line for the brand. Above all else, the guitars in the American Series are built for speed, precision and power, taking the best of the best from the Jackson design history to create an elite tool for the modern player.
AMERICAN SERIES SOLOIST SL3
Equipped with all the essential attributes, the American Series Soloists™ SL3 leads the way in establishing a new standard in the premium high-performance category as it inspires players across the globe. The American SL3’s alder body is matched with a sustain-enhancing through-body three-piece maple neck that has a pair of graphite-reinforcement rods for the ultimate stability to resist-temperature- and humidity-induced bending and warping. The Soloist was built for speed and engineered to become the fastest guitar in Jackson’s portfolio thanks to its legendary Speed Neck, which includes masterfully rolled fingerboard edges for maximum comfort. To complement the neck profile, the Soloist sports a compound radius that starts at 12” at the nut and flattens to 16” at the 12th fret for screaming bends and intricate finger work as you move up the neck. Add in player-focused features like Luminlay side dots to illuminate your fretboard on dark stages and quick access truss rod adjustment to make easy neck relief adjustments, the result is an instrument ready to take on any stage at any time.
