In part 1 of our 2 part interview, Australian Musician’s Greg Phillips catches up with Jake and Dan from Cookin’ On 3 Burners to talk about the creation of their new album, Lab Experiments Vol. 2.
Melbourne-based Hammond organ trio Cookin’ On 3 Burners are Jake Mason (organ), Dan West (guitar) and Ivan Khatchoyan (drums). The trio has just release a new LP Lab Experiments Vol. 2, the funky follow up to 2017’s Lab Experiments Vol. 1: Mixin’
With collaborations galore, the album includes the recent dance floor filler ‘Warning’ featuring rising neo-soul singer Kaiit, as well as other hot collabs with The Meltdown’s resident heartbreaker and vocalist Simon Burke, soul queen Kylie Auldist and Chicago born, Melbourne-based Fallon Williams who lends his gritty vocals to the outfit’s latest single ‘Force of Nature’.
Self-produced and boasting eight of the Burners’ signature deep funk and organ jazz infused tunes, you won’t be disappointed as they take you on yet another musical journey of soul, up-tempo boogaloo, cinematic journeys and straight up dirty dance floor funk with Lab Experiments Vol. 2.
