Today we bring you the first episode our new series called ‘In-Store’, a video feature in which we interview fabulous musicians inside reputable musical instrument stores. First up we sit down with Melbourne-based electro-pop duo Beachwood inside Mannys/Store DJ at 161-163 St Georges Rd North Fitzroy, Victoria.
Beachwood is an exciting new electro-pop duo consisting of Jarrad Rogers and Angeline Armstrong. They’re a Melbourne-based band but the concept was formulated in LA while both were residing there. Vocalist Angeline paid her dues while treading the boards in the indie folk-rock scene, while Jarrad has had considerable experience as a producer and writer working with massive international artists such as Charli XCX, 5 Seconds of Summer, Lana Del Rey and Lauryn Hill, and much loved Australian artists Montaigne, Daniel Johns and Luke Steele. Together they have clicked creatively and just released not one but two new singles. Marbles is a vibrant original track featuring Texan MC Tray Haggerty and they have also tackled a cover of the Brian Wilson classic God Only Knows with great success.
Beachwood make their public stage debut when they launch the singles on November 7 at the Gasometer Hotel
