Six-time Grammy-nominated American jazz guitarist Mike Stern chats with Australian Musician editor Greg Phillips on March 1, 2017 at Melbourne jazz club Bird’s Basement. Mike chats about his past; Miles Davis, Blood Sweat and Tears (who tour Australia next week) … the present; his residency at Bird’s Basement this week, where he’s been playing some exhilarating shows backed by Robert Malach (sax), Living Colour’s William Calhoun (drums) and Teymur Phell (bass)  … and future; a new album in the works.
