MUSICIANS IN ISOLATION: LUKA BLOOM

Irish born singer songwriter Luka Bloom is a troubadour in the truest sense. He travels the world annually performing his stories to thousands of people and collects new tales along the way. For artistic, touring souls, the lockdown has been particularly hard but for Luka, he’s viewing the situation with grace, feeling grateful for what the past has given him and taking this unexpected time off to re-evaluate his life. He’s happy that for the time being, the world has been ‘anthropaused’, allowing nature to shine while humans have been the ones forced into hibernation. He’s also just released a new album titled Bittersweet Crimson, in which he pays tribute to nature. There are two tracks with trees in the title, plus the title track is an ode to the humble pomegranate. He misses touring and Australia in particular, he’s been here 14 times before.

Australian Musician’s Greg Phillips caught up with Luka Bloom to discuss the new album, Bittersweet Crimson and his world in general.
