Introducing Beast Machine and the debut single ‘Time Slowed Down’. These guys hail from the laid back central, Northern NSW but there’s nothing laid back about them in terms of their hard hitting Rock n Roll. To celebrate the release of their single, the guys from Beast Machine sat down to answer Six Quix for us.
In 2017 Reg contacted Josh about starting the heaviest, fastest, most self-indulgent band they could. Their idea was to make music that they enjoyed, do a couple of shows in the Byron Bay area, and create a vehicle for them to let out their frustrations through music. The response to their music was so great that they started getting asked to play outside the local area, they even got an invitation to play in the US. At the end of 2017 they travelled over to the US and did a run of shows around California and Nevada. Fast forward 18 months and they have added a third member, Pete. They head back over to the states for another run of shows this October. Time Slowed Down is heavy by nature however it’s swings with a great big dollop of melody that makes it groove. The single has deep meaning to boot – ‘’Time Slowed Down is a song about being at the lowest point of your life, feeling like you’ve lost all meaning and purpose, feeling like there is no way out, like you are drowning,’’ Reg Barber (Vocals/Guitar)
Their sound has been likened to a fight between Kyuss, High on Fire and Slayer. Their live shows sound heavier than a collapsed star, like a tank full of T-Rex’s. The boys have been busy recording their first album and it should be finished by the end of the year. A must listen for fans of Thrash, Metal, Rock, Punk and Doom.The debut single ‘Time Slowed Down’ is out this August with a run of local and US shows to celebrate its release.
