Australian Musician editor Greg Phillips caught up with Tommy Emmanuel via Skype on June 15, prior to Tommy’s August regional Australian tour (August 22-29) and September guitar camp in Sydney (Sep 1-5). Tommy discusses his Australian tour and guitar camp, set lists, being part of the Maton guitar family, reveals he’s in the process of making an album with a bunch of other guitarist friends, talks about meeting Paul McCartney, how he stops himself from writing the same song over and over, and finally talks about playing a gig the day his hero Chet Atkins died.
