TOMMY EMMANUEL: MATON 70TH BIRTHDAY INTERVIEW

It was only a few months ago that we interviewed guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel via Skype. On that occasion, he’d just returned home to Nashville after yet another successful European tour. However we couldn’t say no to an invitation from Maton Guitars to join the great man again, this time face to face at Melbourne’s Ding Dong Lounge for Maton’s 70th birthday party soundcheck. AM editor Greg Phillips chats to Tommy about his first guitar, his long association with Maton including the one and only time he met company founder Bill May, the road to success and his current projects.
