It’s beginning to look a lot like another Vika & Linda Christmas! Last year Vika & Linda released their first Christmas album Gee Whiz, It’s Christmas! which debuted at #2 on the ARIA charts. They followed it up with a sell-out Christmas show at Melbourne Recital Centre which went down so well that they’re doing it again. And Vika & Linda know Christmas is all about family, so this year they’ve invited some other musical kin to join in the fun.
Vika & Linda previously announced that longtime friend and collaborator Mark Seymour – the man who wrote their first hit “When Will You Fall For Me” – and his daughter, award-winning performer and writer Eva Seymour, will be joining them for the show, as will ARIA Award-winning and Play School-appearing sisters The Little Stevies. And we can tell you now that Henry Wagons – frontman of much-loved Melbourne Alternative country pioneers Wagons, solo artist extraordinaire and host of Double J’s ‘Tower of Song’ program – together with his budding star of a daughter Casper, have joined the bill, as both performers and the evening’s MCs.
So, with some wonderful special guests, a repertoire full of surprises and with their band The Bullettes – Cameron Bruce (keyboards), Ben Edgar (guitars), Richard Bradbeer (bass), Lachlan O’Kane (drums) and vocalists Hailey Cramer and Susie Goble – on hand to help Vika & Linda lay it down right, GEE WHIZ, IT’S CHRISTMAS AGAIN… A FAMILY AFFAIR is going to help make this Christmas one to remember.
