It’s no fantasy – after a long wait, new music from highly acclaimed songwriter, singer and musician, Melody Pool, has been released today. “Fantasy Girl” is her first new song to be sent out into the world at the start of a year of exciting releases. Fans in Australia and overseas, music industry admirers and all who are aware of how unique and unforgettable Melody’s songs are, will not be disappointed.

The single comes out ahead of Melody’s long-awaited third album, planned for release midway through 2024. “Fantasy Girl” is an exquisite fusing of earthy concepts, intelligent contemplation and ethereal eloquence. It’s also extremely catchy and sure to find its way to playlists on streaming and radio, as its soaring vocals and melody (her name is no accident) transport the listener on a journey through the artist’s quandary, as she explains:
“I feel really unfulfilled when I can’t externalise my creativity, and that’s where ‘Fantasy Girl’ came from – the mixed feelings of being unfulfilled by living ONLY a fantasy, but being too engrossed in the fantasy to abandon it.”

A recent trip to Los Angeles and an inspiring few days of photo shoots with legendary music photographer Henry Diltz – known for his iconic images of Joni Mitchell, Mama Cass, Eagles, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Doors, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor and more – have provided Melody with beautiful new images that she will be using for her upcoming album. A few portraits are being previewed now for the “Fantasy Girl” single release.
Melody will be performing two shows in early May to officially send “Fantasy Girl” into the listening world and preview songs from her upcoming album, on May 2nd in Melbourne and May 4th in Sydney. She is also touring during May with her great music friend Ella Hooper.
