AMAC 2014 – CASIO rocks stand with Soda

The guys from Casio Sound Technology grabbed some prime real estate at AMAC setting up right next to the entrance door. On show was their awesome range of XW synths, CTK entry level models, the impressive PX5S stage piano and the very cool XW-J1 all-in-one VJ/DJ controller for iOS devices and PCs

xwp1_p3Casio’s XW-P1 Performance Synth features a powerful monophonic lead synth, Hex layer, Drawbar organ, all your gig-ready tones plus hands on real-time control, giving you everything you need to enter the professional synth world. Featuring 61 note, Solo synth, Hex layer, Drawbar organ and PCM sound engines, this is an amazingly versatile synth. Also includes 13 track step sequencer, 4 assignable knobs, 9 faders for real-time control, USB and 5-pin MIDI output plus 4-zone- control both internal sound engine and external devices

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAxw-gi_p1XW-G1 is their Groove Synthesizer. Designed for the DJ and club performer the XW-G1 features a step sequencer and sample looper for capturing performance patterns and instruments. The six oscillator monophonic solo synth engine sounds amazing and was designed with the performer in mind. Yes, you get access to the original Casio CZ synth sound in the XW-G1. An onboard 13-track sequencer is perfect for live gigs. The 16-step programmable arpeggiator lets you create complex patterns.

On hand to help demonstrate the XW synths, PX5S stage piano and  XW-J1 VJ/DJ gear was Sydney electronic duo SODA featuring Ammiel Warner and Sean Crossan. The guys blend DJing with live keyboards and have come up with a fun, energetic formula in which they really put the Casio gear through its paces. See a snippet of their performance below and a quick AMAC chat. For more info on SODA read the interview we did with Ammiel in late June.
