AMAC 2014 – THE TRC STAND

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMelbourne based company The Resource Corporation is an interesting wholesaler. TRC (as they’re more affectionately known) may not deal in flashy guitars, amps and keyboards but what they do distribute is really cool stuff that musicians couldn’t get by without. They deal in the stands you place your instruments on, the gadgets which connect your instruments to the desk and PA, the maintenance tools which fix your instruments … in other words, the essentials! Plus they also offer some quite innovative products which may well become essentials in the future.

At AMAC this year, TRC Director Tony Hosking and National Sales Manger Tony Burn (who also happens to be the Australian Music Association’s President) showed delegates a great range of new products from some solid brands. From Konig and Meyer, they presented the KM 23910 quick-release adapter and the new Heli 2 guitar stands.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOne of the most interesting pieces of gear on stand was the ARX Blue Di which is an easy way to connect your Bluetooth device to your mixer. Tony Burn demos the Blu DI for us below. He also takes us through the range of new Sony products including the DWZ range of digital wireless devices, which operates in the 2.4 Ghz frequency range and therefore unaffected by the loss of the 694-820 MHz (the digital dividend band) on January 1, 2015.

Other items of interest on stand were the Posse personal multi-channel in-ear monitoring system, which gives control of your sound back to the musician. There was also a range of maintenance products from Cruz Tools for guitar and bass including the new Stage hand compact tech kit, and also some sturdy Prolinx custom cables.
