Introduced in 2019, Takamine’s Thinline Series has grown to rank among their most popular offerings, combining a streamlined body shape with high quality, hand-built construction and great tone. For 2021, three new guitars are joining the Takamine Thinline Series: the TSP100 VT, the TSP100 DBS, and the TSP178 FCB.
The TSP100 VT (Vintage Tobacco finish) and TSP100 DBS (Deep Blue Sunburst finish) are Japanbuilt Takamine Thinline Series models that represent the flagship of this series. They offer high-end design appointments including a quilted maple top, back, and sides, and a maple neck with ebony fingerboard that features Takamine’s ornate and beautiful grassflower inlay. The TSP100 models feature body, neck and headstock biding with abalone purfling on the body and rosette. Like other guitars in the Thinline Series, the two new TSP100 models are in a streamlined FX cutaway shape, and include Takamine’s renowned Palathetic pickup and CT-3N electronics, providing effortless stage amplification and controls — a hallmark of all Takamine guitars.
The TSP178 FCB (Faded Cherry Burst finish) is a new Takamine Thinline guitar that offers an arched maple top, ached maple back, and maple sides to deliver a commanding articulate tone, and plenty of volume while played acoustically or plugged in. Featuring detailed styling like abalone and shell inlays on its ebony fingerboard, the TSP187 VCB is made by Takamine luthiers in Japan, and includes Takamine’s Palathetic pickup and CT-3N electronics that offers three-band EQ, notch filter, and a built-in tuner.
