Roland’s much trumpeted AIRA line of products appeared earlier this year. With roots in the very origins of electronic music, AIRA products are designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s electronic musicians. In the studio or on the stage, AIRA brings genre-defining sounds and modern performance features to a new generation. While computers dominate so many music production activities today, artists still seek inspiration through the sonic character and responsive feel of traditional analog hardware. AIRA products emphasise the spontaneous creativity and hands-on performance inspired by these vintage electronic instruments, while integrating neatly into today’s computer-based production environments.
News this week from Roland is that the entire AIRA family has been updated with exciting and useful new features requested by users from around the globe. This includes updates for the System 1 plug-out synth, TB-3 Touch Bassline, TR-8 Rhythm performer and the VT-3 Voice Transformer. Easy to install and free for all users, this update includes enhancements to the whole line, such as backup and restore facilities, and better overall MIDI management. It also provides a wealth of product-specific enhancements, such as external MIDI pitch control for VT-3, tuning control for TB-3, and instrument gain control for TR-8.
