SIGMA GUITARS – DRC-28E DREADNOUGHT

DRC28E-vertEvery single Sigma guitar proudly features the words “Sigma Guitars Est. 1970” on its headstock. It’s the year the company was founded to counteract a flood of inferior budget-priced acoustic guitars which had negatively impacted the American market at the time. Those who own Sigma guitars are quite fanatical about the brand. There are Sigma fans, Sigma communities, Sigma websites; and many collectors who have specialised in Sigma guitars. Distributed in Australia by Jacaranda Music, the Sigma brand is gaining an increasingly favourable reputation within the musician community.

Sigma guitars come in many guitar shapes and sizes. There are classical, steel, and acoustic/electric models to suit the fussiest musician. One of the Sigma models to receive many accolades recently has been the DRC-28E Dreadnaught.
The DRC-28E Acoustic Electric is a classic dreadnought body size, which lends itself equally to strumming or flatpicking. As with all of the Sigmas, it has a wonderfully warm vintage Martin style tone – great for folk, bluegrass, and many other styles. It looks and sounds like a guitar from a much higher price range. Solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides, Mahogany neck, Bone nut and compensated saddle, Indian rosewood fingerboard, fishman Presys + pickup system, and 25.4″ scale length make this instrument fantastic value.
