The OCTAPAD SPD-20 PRO offers the famous eight-pad layout, legendary sounds, and rugged durability of the original SPD-20, newly enhanced with more responsive playability, additional sounds and functions, and an updated user interface. Compact and portable, the OCTAPAD SPD-20 PRO delivers everything you need to authentically cover percussion in all music genres and settings, from small groups to large-scale ensembles.
This new, modernized version is due to constant requests since the SPD-20 discontinuation in 2011. The SPD-20 was the most successful Roland percussion product ever in India with second-hand prices often in the thousands. It’s so popular in India that there is a ‘PAD’ section of many pro musician listings there specifically for SPD-20 players.
It can be used as a standalone, mobile kit as it goes on the PDS-20 stand and can be connected to external pads and HH controller (PDS-20 is a new replacement version of the popular PDS-10 stand also commonly seen with the SPD-SX sampling pad).
The SPD-20PRO features an updated but very familiar user interface, USB storage and the soundset of the original plus many new sounds and features all designed to appeal to the Indian ‘PAD’ drummer.
