THE OMNIFIC GOES BONGO!

The 2024 Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo collection is here and available as 4, 5, and 6-string models, now featuring stainless steel frets. The finishes have been meticulously crafted: Mantis Green and Blood Orange boast a stunning high gloss finish on the body, complemented by hand-rubbed oil and wax-finished necks. Meanwhile, Stealth Black and Titan Gray showcase a sleek satin finish on both the body and neck.

The Bongo represents everything a modern bass should be: well balanced, comfortable, resonant, and expressive with effortless playability. The double-cutaway basswood body design is of superior construction and, along with a 24-fret neck, offers unimpeded access for high-register two-octave fretwork. The Bongo is available with two Ernie Ball Music Man proprietary humbucking pickups, a 4-band EQ, Neodymium magnets, and an 18V active preamp that delivers a powerful combination of unparalleled tonal diversity.

Australian band The Omnific have just released their 4th album ‘The Law Of Augmenting Returns’ and have delivered a new video of their track “Objets de Vertu” featuring the new Bongo bass collection in Blood Orange and Titan Gray.

Ernie Ball Music Man distributed in Australia by CMC Music

Australian Musician was first introduced to bass-centric band The Omnific when they performed on the CMC Music stand at the Melbourne Guitar Show many years ago. They’ve come along way since, touring Europe on numerous occasions and now delivering their 4th album, ‘The Law Of Augmenting Returns’. They’ve also opened for Polyphia and The Hu recently and played a huge overseas tour with Ne Obliviscaris. They are off to Europe again in August and will return home for a big run of Australian shows, which will be officially announced soon.

‘The Law Of Augmenting Returns’ explores the notion that the more effort you invest in your artistry, the greater the rewards you reap. This powerful trinity of bass and drums pushed their creative boundaries to unprecedented heights; a tremendous body of work transpired, traversing the intense, the emotionally charged, and the humorous, appealing to a wide range of musical palates.

Australian Musician editor Greg Phillips spoke to The Omnific’s Matt Fack back in June via zoom, to chat about the new album ‘The Law Of Augmenting Returns’, touring, gear and more.

The Omnific have also announced Australian tour dates:

Fri 6 Sept | Canberra | Frames
Sat 7 Sept | Sydney | Live Like Animals
Sun 8 Sept | Brisbane | Dimensionist
Thur 12 Sept | Adelaide | LUMENS
Sat 14 Sept | Melbourne | Sebastiside
