World renowned guitarist Alex Hutchings is a modern fusion guitarist par extraordinaire, lauded by many as one of the finest players currently on the planet. Alex has just sent us a video of him getting gig-ready for the Melbourne Guitar Show.
His international following has exploded in recent years thanks to millions of YouTube views via both his own channel and JamTrackCentral (alongside such contemporaries such as Guthrie Govan, Andy James and Jack Thammerat).
Alex is a truly unique guitar player whose strengths lie in his powerful and dynamic balanced playing as well as the fact he consistently masters some of the most complicated techniques, which he regularly uses in his playing. These include sweep picking, long legato lines and complex chord changes.
Regularly touring around the globe Alex performs under his own name and as an international demonstrator for BOSS/Roland.
Other performances include the main guitar role on Michael Jackson’s Thriller Live arena tour (in 13 countries). Glastonbury Festival, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Isle of White Jazz Festival, Cannes Film festival as well as extensive gigs around the UK.
Alex will present a Boss FX masterclass on Saturday August 5th at 1.30 pm in the Winners Circle Workshop Room.
