About the Exhibitor:
When Avocet’s founder, Milan Paskas first saw and played a cigar box guitar in mid 2015, he was struck by how easy and enjoyable it was to play. The design and construction of cigar box guitars presented as the perfect means of combining interests in both music and the visual arts. By the end of 2015, a fledgling business was underway needed a name. It finally arrived by way of one of the greats, Scottish guitarist and folk singer Bert Jansch. In the late 1970s he recorded an entirely instrumental album, the title and tracks all taking their names from endangered water birds. Thus, Avocet.

Avocet cigar box guitars are made in a range of configurations (like conventional guitars), making them adaptable to a variety of musical styles. Our product range continues to evolve, informed by preferences and needs expressed by the guitar players we meet. We normally stock some LEFT HANDED and also FRETLESS versions of our guitars but we can build to requirement upon request.
Each guitar is set up for playing before leaving the workshop.
