BLUESFEST ANNOUNCES TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND & RICKIE LEE JONES SIDE SHOWS

Bluesfest Tours is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated Australian tour of the 12-piece rock and soul powerhouse Tedeschi Trucks Band, set to captivate audiences in March/April next year. 

Led by the dynamic husband-and-wife duo Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, Tedeschi Trucks Band is renowned for its extraordinary musicianship and soul-stirring performances. Their unique blend of blues, rock, and soul has garnered them a dedicated global fanbase and critical acclaim.

 With a GRAMMY™ Award under their belt and a well-deserved reputation as one of the best live acts touring today, the band promises an unforgettable musical experience for Australian audiences.

In addition to Tedeschi Trucks Band playing at The Palais Theatre in Melbourne and the State Theatre in Sydney, they will also grace the stage at Bluesfest Byron Bay, Australia’s iconic music festival, where they will join an incredible lineup of international and local artists.

Of Tedeschi Trucks Band, Peter Noble OAM said, “We’ve been waiting eight long years for Tedeschi Trucks Band to return, and I’m delighted to be able to bring them to Melbourne, Sydney and Bluesfest Byron Bay.”

 “Last week, Tedeschi Trucks Band headlined Madison Square Garden in New York. These guys are a big deal!”, Peter Noble said today.

The tour run is as follows. :

Wednesday 3 April, The Palais Theatre, Melbourne (will play two sets)

Friday, 5 April, State Theatre, Sydney (will play two sets)

Saturday, 30 March, Bluesfest, Byron Bay

Sunday 31 March, Bluesfest Byron Bay

Returning to Australian shores for the first time in seven years, two-time GRAMMY™ Award-winning American singer, songwriter, musician, and author Rickie Lee Jones’ remarkable career spans five decades, and she has inspired pop culture for just as long. 

Rickie Lee Jones has captivated audiences worldwide with her unique blend of jazz, rock, and folk influences. Her distinctive voice and timeless songs have earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase.

In 1979, she gate-crashed the mainstream with her star-making, self-titled debut album, followed by her second album, the seminal Pirates. In 1989, she released Flying Cowboys, which featured her song “The Horses,” one of the most beloved songs in Australia.

Rickie Lee Jones’ live performances are known for their intimate, emotive quality, making each show a memorable and immersive experience for fans old and new. 

Peter Noble OAM said of Rickie Lee Jones, “Rickie Lee Jones’ unique storytelling ability and poetic lyrics have solidified her as a true American treasure, and this tour is a rare opportunity for Australian audiences to witness her musical genius up close and personal”.

Rickie Lee will also play at Bluesfest Byron Bay on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
