The 2014 Foster A Band initiative, which sees local bands vie for a spot at the Marion Bay Falls Music & Arts Festival’, has been their most popular competition to date! Falls fans cast over 4000 votes via the festival’s website and the race was super close to the very end. Running throughout the month of October, people from around Australia tuned in and selected who they want to see hitting the Marion Bay stage this summer alongside the likes of Alt-J, The Presets, Spiderbait, Cold War Kids, Salt N Pepa, Vance Joy and more!
The three artists scoring the most votes and securing a paid slot on the 2014 line-up are:
Dark Matter of Story Telling, ready to put on mind-altering performances with big, progressive, ambient, psych-rock, far beyond anything you’ve probably ever imagined.
Three-piece rock band Verticoli, whose music is inspired by the deep grooves, heavy riffs and introspective lyrics of 90s alternative rock, the band started its life with a simple ethos – to play fun, fierce and flat-out rock music.
Indie-rock outfit Ursine, the young Tasmanian six-piece who use bright guitars, deep basslines and strong melodies to make what is best described as froth-rock; a beautifully functional mess.
Falls have also invited back to the line-up 2012 Foster Band winners Luca Brasi! Since hitting the stage in 2012, they’ve been touring Australia alongside the likes of Violent Soho, Smith Street Band and they’ve released their second album ‘By A Thread’ via Poison City Records!
