At Bluesfest Byron Bay this year, our photographer Jason Rosewarne had incredible access to Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, shooting photos from backstage, side-stage and front and centre. Lukas and band had a wonderful festival, sharing their stage with Leesa Gentz from Hussy Hicks for a duet, and in another inspiring performance with William Crighton and Tracker Pete. It was also a great opportunity for Lukas and band to give us a taste of their next recording, performing tracks from the heart warming, upcoming Turn Off The News and Build a Garden album. There are some amazing photos here of Lukas, Logan Metz (keys), Corey McCormick (bass), Anthony LoGerfo (drums), and Tato Melgar (percussion). Jason was recently placed in the top 20 in Australasia’s Emerging Photographers of 2019 in the portrait category. No surprises there, check out his shots and you’ll see why.
