GALLERY: SHERYL CROW & MELISSA ETHERIDGE, MELBOURNE

Sheryl Crow & Peter Stroud

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Sheryl Crow or Melissa Etheridge in Australia, so it was with a great sense of excitement that fans heard that they’d be touring Australia together. In a short, Australian exclusive interview on the red carpet at the She Rocks Awards in January, Melissa told us how thrilled she was to coming back. From their opening gig of the tour at Bluesfest to the other capital cities, these iconic female singer songwriters were clearly enjoying their time downunder.

At Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena, Sheryl Crow clutched a stuffed koala bear and told the audience what a pleasure it was to be here, away from the political madness of her own country. Crow and her incredible band (including Australian Musician friend Peter Stroud) rocked hard and delivered all of the hits that the fans had come to hear, including; Everyday Is a Winding Road, All I Wanna, My Favorite Mistake, Strong Enough, If It Makes You Happy, and many others. A duet between Sheryl and Melissa on the classic Allman’s song Midnight Rider was a very special moment too.

Surprisingly, Melissa Etheridge kicked off her set from behind the drum kit, however it wasn’t long before she donned a guitar and launched into her catalogue of gold featuring; Your Little Secret, No Souvenirs, Come to My Window, Bring Me Some Water, and the encore Like the Way I Do, in which she appeared proudly wearing a Western Bulldogs AFLW guernsey.

Mark Moray from Wicked Rock Photography was on hand to capture the magic of the Melbourne show.
