Indie-Con, Australia’s leading independent music industry conference is back in Adelaide this July. Empowering attendees with insights and knowledge, this year’s program will explore Insights into China, Sync, Streaming, Smart Marketing, The Future of the Label, Artists as Entrepreneurs, Mental Health, Leadership, HR, Tech, Esports and Gaming, Copyright, Financial Literacy and more.

From China Indie-Con presents Alessandro Pavanello (Kanjian) and Lolly Fan (Artist Manager, Maybe Mars), to share insights on how to connect with our largest neighbour as well as opportunities to tap into one of the fastest growing music markets in the world.

Graham Donald (Seven Network) will join Matthew Donlevy (Cooking Vinyl), Jen Taunton (Level Two Music), Rachel Kelly (Downtown Music Publishing) and Phillip Mortlock (ORiGiN Music) for Sync Outside the Box, to explore ways to generate income from your masters.

SVP of Operations and Innovation at Entertainment One Bill Wilson will journey from the US to join Jacqui Louez Schoorl (Jaxsta), Mick Tarbuk (Believe Digital) and Paige X. Cho (Bolster) to conduct A Tech Health Check for Indies.

Attendees will navigate the world of playlisting and algorithms with Guillaume Deront (Gleam Futures) and other industry figures to Lift the Lid on Streaming, then dive deep into the Anatomy of What Makes A Good Deal with New York’s Thaddeus Rudd (Mom+Pop Music) and Julian Hewitt (Media Arts Lawyers). Mads Brown (Fortress Esports) will also join us to discuss the burgeoning world of Esports and Gaming.

Katie Wighton (All Our Exes Live In Texas), UK’s Helen Smith (IMPALA) and representatives from PPCA, Music Rights Australia and APRA AMCOS will delve into the importance of protecting Copyright.

The two-day conference will also shine the spotlight on The Artist as an Entrepreneur, provide professional development sessions on Leadership, HR, Financial Literacy and Marketing and take the time to talk about Wellbeing in the Music Industry.

For the first time, all delegates will have the opportunity to request One-On-One meetings with the conference speakers and presenters from around the country and the world.
