LARRY CARLTON & LOUIE SHELTON BACKED BY OUR OWN MUSIC HEROES

It’s great to see local musicians Gerry Pantazis (drums), Phil Turcio (keyboards) and Craig Newman (bass) backing the legendary American guitarist Larry Carlton as he tours the country. Larry is famous for licks on classic recordings by Joni Mitchell, The Crusaders and Steely Dan. Of course he’s also won 4 Grammys (nominated 19 times) for his own recordings. On Friday night in Brisbane, Larry introduced another American guitar icon, Louie Shelton to the stage to join them. Louie is one of the world’s most famous session guitarists with credits including; Jackson Five (I Want You Back, I’ll Be There), Boz Scaggs (Lowdown), Neil Diamond (Play Me), Seals & Crofts (Summer Breeze), as well as sessions with Ella Fitgerald, Mamas and Papas, Barbra Streisand, The Monkees, James Brown and a lot more.
Gerry, Phil and Craig will also join Larry as the Larry Carlton Quartet at the prestigious Melbourne International Jazz Festival this week.
