Mavis Staples is living, breathing history and to say we are excited to announce that she will be returning to her second home in Australia to play Brisbane this March is an understatement! She is an icon of her time. From her gospel days with her family band, The Staple Singers, and her active role in the Civil Rights movement, to chart-topping R&B success in the ’70s and now a successful, Grammy-winning solo artist, Mavis Staples really is one of the last true Ladies of Soul. One of the world’s greatest guitarists, George Benson is coming to Melbourne and Sydney for headline shows this April ahead of his performance at Bluesfest Byron Bay. The Grammy Award winner will be performing a selection of his classic hits including ‘Give Me the Night’, ‘Turn Your Love Around’ and ‘Nothings Gonna Change My Love For You’ plus a couple of new favourites from his latest album, ‘Walking to New Orleans’.
