The Melbourne Guitar Makers Festival is on this Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th at the Abbotsford Convent. It is a rare and unique opportunity to see, play, hear and celebrate the handcrafted guitar. These instruments are seldom seen in shops, and the maker’s workshops often off the beaten track. Come along and be inspired by stunning handmade guitars and meet their makers in the picturesque & intimate setting of the Abbotsford Convent.

The highly popular workshop series is back for 2015! This year, 8 makers will each present a workshop. Gain an insight into the unique philosophy, ideas and techniques of each maker as they discuss their work. The focus of each workshop will be the individuality and diversity of handmade quality work and the value of what a truly handmade guitar can do
A series of short performances will be staged over the weekend of the festival, featuring guitars made by exhibiting makers. The festival is excited to collaborate with the Classical Guitar Society of Victoria again this year who will stage a series of classical guitar concerts and workshops.
