The folks at Roland Australia have launched a great new web series on MODES for guitarists. Once you get past strumming a few basic chords and begin to think about solos, you have to know this stuff. In this series, which appears on the Roland Australia Blog, the articles start from a basic introduction then proceed to take you through the various modes.
Plus in conjunction with Coffee Break Grooves, each lesson offers a free backing track (real musicians playing real instruments) with each article, so a guitar player can read about a mode, understand how it works, know what chord progressions to look for, then try it out for themselves.
