We are thrilled to announce that Jake Bowen, guitarist from cutting-edge American metal band Periphery will be joining us at the 2019 Melbourne Guitar Show to present a masterclass for Ibanez Australia on Saturday August 3rd.
Hailing from New York, Ibanez Signature Artist Jake Bowen has been an integral cog in the Grammy-nominated progressive metal band Periphery. With their debut in 2010 the band has solidified their place in the metal world and helped popularise an exciting new genre of music. Ibanez Australia will be hosting Masterclasses featuring Periphery’s guitarist Jake Bowen held across Australia. These Masterclasses offer an exclusive and intimate opportunity for budding or experienced guitarists to learn from one of the pioneers of the progressive metal movement. The Masterclasses will consist of Jake demonstrating and teaching specific techniques used on his solo work and Periphery’s catalogue and will conclude with Q & A session from the audience ranging from a range of topics. Jake will present his Melbourne Guitar Show masterclass on Saturday August 3rd. Just as each new Periphery release seems to turn progressive metal around another 180 degrees, Jake Bowen, the source of the band’s rich tapestry of guitar-based ambient soundscapes, has also moved the boundaries of guitar design and performance with his new Ibanez signature instrument—the JBM10FX, which he’ll be demonstrating at the guitar show.
