Australian Musician co-founder Rob Walker has been elected Chairman of the Alliance and Music for All at the 2024 Annual General Meeting held recently.
Rob takes the reigns from the retiring Chairman, Adrian Alexander, who has served in the role since 2011. Rob has been a board member of Soundhouse Music Alliance since 2008 and has served in the roles of Treasurer, Secretary and Deputy Chairman in that time.
Music For All (Australia) is a grants based charity, operated by Soundhouse Music Alliance, a deductible gift recipient (DGR) status charity, which has operated over a 30-year period. Its aim has always been to encourage and support Australians to become creators and makers of music with the goal of having them experience the life-changing benefits that active music-making can bring.
In recent years, the board has established a small grants program that has enabled access to music making through a combination of individual donations and project grants. It focuses on those with limited or challenged access to music making.

Rob said on his appointment, “I am honoured to be appointed Chairman of Soundhouse and Music for All. The rich history of the charity makes me feel I am riding on the shoulders of giants. The charity has contributed to so many initiatives that have impacted music making and music education over more than 40 years and carries a legacy I and the board intend on perpetuating.”
“Our most recent program, Music for All adds another dimension to what Soundhouse has achieved. We look forward to developing our grants program that has assisted many deserving people and organisations in music making.”

We are particularly grateful to the commitment of the Phil Taylor Foundation in enabling the more than $50,000 in grants we have made over the last few years.
