RockFest is a nationwide contemporary music event for school students, with over $11,000 worth of prizes to be won for your School. Your School Band could be flying to Melbourne later in the year to compete against the best bands in the Nation for some great prizes. In fact, you can win some great prizes for your school  just be entering RockFest. 

Senior Bands – Seniors will now be Years 9-12. The winning Senior Band from each Heat will progress to the National Final on August 27th.

Solo Act: The Best Solo Act from each heat will go through to the National Final.

Junior Bands – This section will now be for Regional Heats only. Junior Bands will not go through to the National Final. They will still receive awards at the heat stages but there will be no progression after that.  Juniors will now be for years 7 and 8 Students.

NSW, SA and QLD Bands and Solo Acts – We will be providing accommodation and Flights for 5 Band Members and 1 Teacher/Parent for Bands and 2 Flights and Accom Maximum for Solo Acts. So you are encouraged to keep bands to a 5 member limit. (Extra Band members can still enter but Flights and accom will need to be covered by the band or school.) Flights for NSW Bands will be out of Sydney and Newcastle Airport. Flights for QLD Bands will be out of Brisbane Airport. Flights for SA will be out of Adelaide Airport

There are over $10,000 in Prizes to give away this Year and even more ways to win some great Prizes for your Music Department.

1st Prize Best Senior Band:
Best Senior Band @National Final Wins for their School. PDP Mainstage Drum Kit and a    JIMI HENDRIX Fender Stratocaster. Total Prize $3500

1st Prize Best Solo Artist:
Best Solo/Duo @ National Final Wins for their School.Fender Acoustic FSR NEWPORTER PLAYER, MOCHA. Total Prize value of $699

Win a Gretsch Energy Drum kit for your School just by Entering RockFest this year and posting a video to Instagram telling us why your school needs a new Gretsch Drum Kit.
When you post your video you will need to tag @rockfestaus @daddarioausdrums @cranbournemusic.
You must be entered in this years Rockfest and you need to make sure you tag your video correctly.

Your School has a chance of winning these great prizes just by entering RockFest in 2020. Yamaha’s “Next Big Thing” awards, will be awarded to School Music Program’s that are showing promise in developing Contemporary Music Pathways, having bands and Solo Acts perform at a high standard during RockFest 2020 and providing an environment that allows all students to feel they can be a part of RockFest.
The Winning Schools will be announced at the National Final on the 27th August 2020.

RockFest 2020 Song of the Year:
RockFest will be running a “Song of the Year” competition this year. one lucky Songwriter will win a Squier Mustang Classic Vibe Guitar valued at $799. All you need to do is enter RockFest 2020 and send us your YouTube link to your song. You don’t have to have a Pro Video, it’s the song we will be judging. @bridgetamusic is the first entrant in Song of the year so far.

RockFest Futures Award:
This Development award will be awarded to one artist this year at the National Final.
