sxsw_2016_italic-v1

In its 30th year South by Southwest Interactive, Music and Film Festivals and Conferences (SXSW) have opened up artist & band showcase submissions, film screening applications, entry for Interactive Awards as well as speaker & topic proposals for the Austin Texas events March 11-22.  Details at http://sxsw.com.

SXSW is also hosting special free “Movie Meet ‘n’ Greet” networking nights in Melbourne July 13, Sydney July 14, Adelaide August 3 and Brisbane August 4 with a panel of expert veterans in each city sharing secrets, tips and insider info as well as showing the 90 minute film “Outside Industry” on the raucous 30 year history of SXSW that was never released commercially because the producer never cleared the rich music within.  (See below for dates and speakers)

In March 2015, over 750 paid delegates attended from Australia, 47 bands played official night showcases and innumerable parties, four Australian films were featured in the juried show and various interactive projects were nominated for awards.
