TAYLOR AMERICAN DREAM AD27E

Named after the guitar shop where Taylor Guitars was founded in 1974, the American Dream Series embodies the principles of innovation, craftsmanship and resourcefulness Taylor always turn to during challenging times. Facing the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, they pushed themselves to design a new guitar series that responded to the needs of players — something that combined performance and value. These US-made, solid-wood guitars are distilled into the essential elements of premium Taylor performance — featuring V-Class bracing and our signature playability — with simple appointments so they won’t break the bank. The series introduces the lowest-priced US-made, all-solid-wood guitars in the Taylor line.

Tonewood pairings within the series include solid African ovangkol back and sides with a sprucetop, and sapele back and sides with a mahogany top. The ovangkol/spruce models are offered in two distinctive aesthetic treatments: a natural top with stained ovangkol back and sides, and a blacktop edition, featuring a matte black top and natural ovangkol back and sides. The series was introduced with the Grand Pacific body style, our round-shoulder dreadnought, which boasts a warm, seasoned voice and powerful low end, making it a versatile workhorse. Unique features include chamfered body edges and a thin matte finish that optimizes the acoustic resonance of the body and supports the understated aesthetic.

As Taylor Guitars approach the one-year anniversary of the launch of the American Dream, we take a look at the Ad 27e

Conceived and launched during challenging times, the American Dream AD27e combines premium performance and value, making it accessible to working musicians. This model features back and sides of solid sapele topped with solid mahogany, a hardwood combination that produces a meaty midrange and even balance across the tonal spectrum. Outfitted with V-Class bracing for additional volume and sustain, the Grand Pacific body shape also brings a seasoned tonal response that evokes the sounds of early acoustic recordings. Appointments for the AD27e include chamfered body edges, black top purfling, 4mm dot fretboard inlays, a faux tortoiseshell pickguard, and a Urban Sienna stain, all wrapped in a 2.0-mil matte finish. It ships with built-in ES2 electronics in a super-portable Taylor AeroCase.
