At the end of a hugely successful 2017 National tour, Tommy Emmanuel is proud to announce he will return to Australia in August 2018 for a unique opportunity that no guitar fan will want to miss. Over 4 days and nights, guitar students and aficionados will receive masterclasses and performances with Tommy and fellow guitarists Michael Fix, Simon Hosford and Richard Smith.
“Hi folks, Tommy Emmanuel here. I want to tell you about my Australian guitar retreat in 2018. It’s happening on August 15th to 19th in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges of Victoria. My instructors will be Michael Fix, Simon Hosford, and Richard Smith. So come along and be prepared for four days and nights chock-full of learning, jamming and playing together while we eat, sleep, drink guitar. The Tommy Emmanuel Guitar Retreat Australia will take place at CountryPlace, right in the middle of Dandenong Ranges and 40 minutes drive from Melbourne. Surrounded by the beauty of the Mountain Ash trees and the natural wilderness of the area, this luxury retreat is aimed at players of all ages, levels, interests and taste. Whether you are a master player, a beginner, or just an enthusiastic fan, this four-day program offers activities and workshops for all levels of guitarists in a non-competitive environment and strictly about the joy of music.
In a career that has spanned over five decades, Tommy Emmanuel has become one of the most respected and acclaimed musicians on the planet. One of five designated “Certified Guitar Player” (CGP), a tribute bestowed by iconic guitarist Chet Atkins, Tommy has received an incredible variety of accolades, including two Grammy Award nominations, two Golden Guitar awards and being twice voted Best Acoustic Guitarist by US Guitar Player Magazine. In 2010, he added AM to his name after CGP, when he was appointed a Member of Order of Australia for services to music.
